The Thursday night “Meet, Greet, and Eat” get togethers are still held at the Cathouse on Jefferson Hwy. in Baton
Rouge every week. If the weather is nice enough to ride then the gathering is at the Exxon station on the corner of I-
10 and Highland around 6:30 at which point we ride the back roads and local twisties to get to the Cathouse around 8
for live music, good food, and great friends. It’s always a relaxed atmosphere and a great place to meet (or pick on)
the people you’ve met from the site.
Someone left the door open and RSTed1000 got out
again out only to return 13 days later after a 5500 mile
ride through some of our nations most beautiful parks
and monuments. His travels took him up to Glacier
National park, camping in Yellowstone, along the
continental divide, through the Wyoming desert, and
all the way to the high mountain passes of western
Colorado. He returned home and provided his ride
report and pictures for you to take the trip along with
him and “Em”. The ride report section of the forum is
filling with some of the amazing rides and travels that
the members have shared with us recently. Come
along and catch the fever.
Starting this month we’ve decided to put out a newsletter to all
the members of the site. In here we’ll bring you the rides from the
past month, winners of the monthly raffle, upcoming rides, and
just the DSRL community news in general. The site is growing by
leaps and bounds and this should be a useful tool to show the
highlights of events past and future. We would like to hear from
you as well, and let us know what you want to see on this page as
time goes by.
Kilimanjaro Air jacket $242.99

July/August will be the first month for
the DSRL raffle and it certainly isn’t
something that we’re just easing into.
With a growing partnership with
Lightspeed Motorsports, who have
graciously committed to donating an
item each month for the raffle, we’ve
been able to get our hands on a
Firstgear Kilimanjaro Air jacket that
retails for $242.99!!! Raffle tickets are
$10 a piece and may be purchased
through Juicemonkey. The details on
the monthly raffles and winners will
be announced on the site in this
forum
On July 16th, some of your fellow dual-sporters teamed together
for the Dual-sports & La Rider ride around the hills and trails of
St. Francisville and on up to Cat Island. Led by our own
Kenwelshons they spent a day of discovering gravel roads and
backwoods trails, making their own trails at some points, and
breaking femurs. Still, fun was prevalent and great friendships
were made as well. Pictures and the report (with commentary) are
only a click away.
AND THEY’RE OFF…. The 50 State race has begun and
the clock is ticking. The goal to collect a picture in
front of all 50 state welcoming signs is beginning to
take shape as the first of the pictures have started to
come in. The race will benefit Children’s Hospital, as
members are allowed to sponsor a donation on a “per
state” basis, or however they see fit. The winner of the
race will also benefit by a purse of donations that is
asked to be submitted by the competitors or anyone
who would like to help a worthy cause. Rules and
guidelines may be found on the site as well as a
continually updated map and tally of how far we’ve
come.

The Dual-Sport Las Vegas weekend is scheduled for
September 14th-17th and some members already have
hotels and flights booked. Some are flying while others
will be riding out to Sin City for a few days of gambling
and miles spent riding the desert. It's not too late to
join in for a weekend that will almost certainly be
looked back upon as "that awesome weekend in
Vegas".
For those of you who haven’t visited the website in a little while we invite you to take a look and see how much we’
ve grown. The interest in Dual-Sporting is growing exponentially and the excitement of enjoying this pastime with
good friends is only getting stronger. Take care and ride safe.
