Anyone made there off road bike street legal? What do you have to add besides lights? A speedo?

I'm looking at the DRZ400E and making it street legal for Louisiana ...

No way ass bandit! I am amazed you got off your stool to walk over there and check it out! I think the DRZ 125 would be more in your level of riding.......lol

Craig, I was talking to Johnny Territo about dual sports and he has experience in making off-road bikes street legal.
Give him a call at City Cycles of Baton Rouge: 225-272-3378
Tell him "the Buell guy" sent you :D

I found an easier way. Drive your bike to the local bike shop and trade it for one of these...

Before I got my XRL I was going to buy an XRR and found a couple guys on ThumperTalk that had them Plated here in LA. The kid over at motorsports extreme in Metairie has a YZ that he built into a supermoto and says he's going to ride it on the streets. So it can be done. I'd like to know the details for the paperwork.

I know you'll need blinkers, lights/brake light and mirrors and more than likely have to have the State Police inspect the bike Verify VIN# (at least you have to do that with Grey market cars and salvaged), but not sure what else is involved.

At the Honda/Yammie shop on Airline South of I-12 in Baton Rouge, they are building and plating a CRF450 Supermoto. I bet they can help!

Good to know Cool12

Bayou I ran into a guy that lives a few blocks over from me who rides a Husky SMR510, he's got another buddy with a TE610 SM (Guess he took it out to one of the track days at NPR and made all the sport bikes look silly), anyway he drove by and saw my bike out front and stopped by to BS for awhile and he and his ridding buddy are pretty serious about wanting to start some "racing" around here, I know Manic is also trying to get something together as well. It looks like the future might be promsing for a little weekend SM track fun.

This place supposedly sells kits to make almost every dirt bike into a dual sport. I read about them in an article called dual sport for dummies in the curremt issue of Dirt Bike [I think] magazine. The article points out that making a dirt bike street legal various widely from state to state and even forn county to county.
