Ok, bought a 06 KLR today. And with the help of the parts guru Craig I ordered some new farkles. Moose Bark Busters, Moose Stainless Steel Footpegs, and Moose Shifter. And a kick ass lil Joe Rocket Tank bag. I will get these on and then look at getting a few more. I am trying to sell my house, and once I do that I will buy one over here. Once I get my tools set up I might try hosting a couple tech days/BBQ some crap and just hang out days. Till then I will keep you all posted. :D

Kevin, you have bought and sold more motorcycles this month than I have in the past four years ...

you had better not get used to it with that wedding coming up :)

Congrats!

Yea, Kev
Thanks for increasing our KLR count here on the board, seeing that LoneHorn bought your 04 and you bought a new one ;)
If you sell this one make sure it's to another board member, K?

Famous last words.....just wait till Kawasaki puts the new narrow twin that is in the new ER650 in a KLR frame......you'd be 1st inline :D

I got the red, with silver tank. However I did just go to the BMW dealer and check the 1200 out...... schwing! They have two 650 or 600's on order. And BMW will let you test drive a bike if you have an endorsment........ I didn't. But damn they had some neat bikes in there.

Oh my god JayD they had a 05 1200 in there...... oh man, my fiance had to drag me out of there! Those bikes are nice! But I am happy with a new KLR, it will serve it's purpose.

I didn't even take the bike down the road yet, and I saw this cool little weather proof 12 volt plug at AutoZone while picking up some locktite. Anyway, mounted it on the bike before I ever road it. I racked up a whole 17 miles on the pig tonight. And hopefully my other farkles will be in sooner or later. just thought I would let you all know.
Till the next ride.......

Look between the neck of the frame and the headlight, there will be 2 wires with female type connections on them. These or for the city light on European models (I believe, correct me if I am wrong). I saw them, and have read many article's about people running heated Grips, Vests, Cell Phones, GPS's etc. etc. I just cut the two connections off (be careful you don't have much wire sticking out the harness). And put on to Male blade connectors, then on the plug, I put to female blade connectors. plugged it in a tested it (works with the key on), then mounted it below the winshield where weather wouldn't really be a factor (less a factor anyway). I can take pics of mine and post them this eveing. Kind of tight working on the wires, but you can do it.

great suggestion. i hadn't had the chance to do much research on it but this sounds like a great option. i'd appreciate pictures of your handiwork. and you know everyone else loves pictures of new farkles too.

Mine was a sealed unit, Made by Bell. AutoZone for $9.99, kind of high for a plug but it claims to be weather proof.
