Hit a dog and went down.

Was heading to meet some friends in Baton Rouge for a ride. Turning right off of LA 10 onto Joe Daniels Rd. A dog jumped up out of some tall weeds right at the corner. Maybe he was sleeping and I scared him, anyway he ran right into my front tire as I was starting to roll on the gas at the apex. I had no time to react, he was 5 feet away when I first saw him. Luckily I was going only 5-10 mph, since that corner always looks sandy. Lowsided and twisted my right foot, a little gouge in my boot, not sure what it hit, banged my right elbow on the pavement. the VFR's upper fairing is scraped and cracked at the signal light, bar end, knuckle guard and corner of Givi are all scuffed. Givi probably prevented more damage.

Foot is a little swollen and painful to walk, no problem riding tho. Maybe the worst part of all: my brand new (Thursday) helmet, a late fathers day gift from Stacie is scuffed.Oops

Thanks all. By the way, the dog apparently survived. By the time I got up he was nowhere to be found. Tough SOB! Yeah, JAyD That was me and Tony and Kevin on our way to River Road. I met them at Starbucks on Corporate and you probably saw us on College or Lee Dr.

Thanks! Yeah, I'll be at trackday. A little hard to walk but gets a little better everyday. Even less problem riding. I hope by the 6th I will be able to put my new rearsets to the test.
