Ok, it's probably gonna be a while before I'm able to actually get a bike, but that ain't stoppin' me from looking. haha. I'm not looking for anything big, just something to play and have a little fun on. I see that Yamaha's tt-r250 has a headlight and taillight, but wondering if it's street legal, or is that just for the trails?

and then hopefully you can run into someone at teh DMV that does not know what they are tagging and you have a silver tongue to get a tag.

This is just getting too tempting now. Was just looking at honda and yamaha before. Never even thought about suzuki or kaw'. Saw suzuki had a drz200, but then I just came across this baby. Never though I'd get a kawasaki, but that may change soon. And this one is for sure street legal. :D

Actually around 03 Kawasaki made a KLX400. Same exact bike as the DRZ400. Hence why Kawasaki markets the KLR and Suzuki markets the DRZ.
Heres a KLX400.

I wanted to tag a XR650R for street use, and when I was doin' some 'net research I found there was some guys with them Street Plated in LA, Nobody spelled out the specifics, but from what I understand it's not all that hard to get a "Off-Road" bike plated here as long as you get all the lights/mirrors on it.
I found an L, that was already set-up the way I would've done the R,and it cost a lot less.

I think the main reason the XR650L is cheaper is because it's air cooled instead of water cooled, like the XR650R. I looked at those hard but decided to go with the KLR650 since the tank is MUCH bigger and the KLR is supposed to be a lot more comfortable on the highway. Most of the other specs were pretty close.

there was a couple of these out at telico. from everyone's impression, they were a hit. add the aftermarket, larger gas tank and you'll make klr riders drool.

Yeah. Heard good stuff about them too. The small fuel tank was the only down I heard, but the aftermarket has that covered.
Had some problems that kept me from getting one sooner, but hopefully I'll be able to fit one into the budget in the near future! Last time I went to lightspeed I wanted to just sign the papers and get the one they had. haha.
