Help him change out his Dohickey. Everything went fine.

Also used his Dohickey tools to check the spring on my 93 KLR. Found a shim that was banging around making noise and making marks all over.

Will take pics next time.

Pos PO took it to the wrong bike shop.

Have fixed the problem! Checking the valves next weekend.

Still waiting on my camcap from EagleMike to finish the 685cc KLR rebuild on my 04.

Any recomendations for a good rear tire? Any exp. with metzler? And by the way, how serious is the doohickey issue, almost seems like hype to me?

Thanks12

I really like the Distanzia by Avon. Not the best in sand/true offroad, but excellent on the street (wet or dry) & good on gravel. My last rear tire got a little over 9k too.

I like Kenda 270s cuz they are cheap!

If anybody needs spares I gotta em. Just drop off your broke part and I'll give ya a good one.

Right on guys I'll look into both. My stock tire has 1900 on it and it's gettin pretty low on tread, any idea if it's the street or off road thats making it wear so fast?

I would say street in a heartbeat.

I've run Kenda 270s and Duro 903-904s
Liked 'em both, the Kenda much better off road, acceptable on the street
(able to drag pegs but wiggley at full tilt boogie)

Duros, much better on street, so so off road
(Good for hard pack and gravel)
Here is a short vid of me chasing Kev at the Gap on Duros
On the 1st run (not filmed) we passed 4-5 sport bikes
When we got to the top and were enjoying the view they arrived a few minutes later and asked us if we the one that had passed them up down the hill
We answered
"Indeed, we were " They all shook their heads in disbelief
A priceless moment and one I wished I had be able to film
