I bought the tires (Distanzias), I just have to wait until a friend can break free and help me mount them. That's going to take a while.
Anyone here a hand at changing tires? I buy beer/food/whatever? Shops want a small fortune if you didn't buy the tires from them....

I am good with tubeless tires but have very little experience with tubes. I have a Harbor Freight changer you are welcome to use and I will gladly help.
Juice and JayD came up a couple months back and used the HF. Actually ScooterTrash did most of the labor. I watched Ken do a 20 minute tube swap in a parking lot on the last DSRL ride.
If St. Francisville is not to far out of your way you are welcome to come on up.

Nothing says loving like Olive Drab! Looks good EJ
Tires aren't that hard, if you could get Chappy's tools it wouldn't take that much. I don't have anything going this evening.... well just yet, but the rest of the weekend looks like it might be kinda booked up.

ha, I saw that thing "in the flesh" at the chinese restaurant. Kenny and I can change tires like madmen. We vowed to never pay for mounting again. So, if you don't take up anyone else's offer, consider this one.

Chappy- Thanx, Dude! Gonna try local first, 'cause wherever I go, I gotta ride with 2 tires slung like saddlebags off the sides.
Snipe- Where you is? My Saturday morning is shot helping a friend haul gas bottles for refill with my truck, but my Saturday evening through Sunday night is....well....for tire swappin' I'm yo' biotch. You call the tune and I'll dance. I'll be anywhere, anytime after Saturday morning. I'll pull up on a bike with tires slung over it if that's OK with you.
279-0755, my friend. Let me know. THANQUE!
P.S. No internet over the weekend unless I fix the home box which looks doubtful as of the moment. Phone is it!

OK, here's the pics with the e-tool cover and pistol holster mounted. These are just for looks and carrying small things. Not weatherproof or practical, just for fun.

Ewwwwwwww..... And what, like, get him DIRTY?! I am so sure!
Heh heh. I pulled the front wheel in the dirt last night in my yard. Left a small roost across the field on my way to 4th gear. It gets much better dirt traction now, so that tree line was coming up mighty fast. Scared my family.
The good thing is it stops in the dirt. I went metal-to-metal on the rear brakes (at 14.1K miles, go figure) and the replacements should be in today or tomorrow. I'm all front brakes in commuter traffic on wet roads....what could possibly go wrong? Gotta get those brake pads swapped in my shop the moment they come in.
Then Fang deploys.
HOO-wah!

yeah, it took me a while to even get used to using rear brakes. My CBR would have been just fine without them. The KLR on the other hand, requires them. the wet roads are fun for spinning 'em up in the turns though ;)

EJ, I now have a tire machine in my shop. Let me know if you ever need tires mounted.....Is the paint a rattle can job?
