It came to my attention today that some of us are having a bit of a hard time posting pics here on DSRL
(You youngsters can pitch in and give advice or bail now 'caue this will be old hat to you)

When posting pics on the web they must be hosted somewhere.
You can host bike pix here on DSRL thanks to Juice at no charge

Load your pics here or someplace like www.tinypic.com (http://www.tinypic.com)

Hopefully you have reduced the file size of your pic from a print quality file 1.2mb-4mb files (180-300dpi resolution and up )
down to a 72dpi (dots per inch) file around 150kb to 350kb, lets say
640x480, which will be an 8x10 "Internet resized" file or pic

Then you can have it hosted somewhere sucessfully and link it to web boards such as this

ie. this pic was loaded on Tinypic.com
http://tinypic.com/25jebmr.jpg

How you load it here is, put your cursor over the pic,
Then right click your mouse,
It will bring up a long box asking what do you want to do
with this pic
Go to the bottom with your cursor and hit "properties"
You will get the "address" of that pic (or URL)
Then take that address (hopefully by cutting and pasting)
and load it into the box that pops up when you click the little yellow
pic icon at the top of the bar when you post something
It will say "Script prompt, please enter the URL of your image"

Now in this case the pics URL or address is http://tinypic.com/25jebmr.jpg

If you load that address into the pop up, it will appear here

if you load it this way http://tinypic.com/25jebmr

it wont load as a pic but show as a red x or a hyperlink instead
Don't forget to add the .jpg on the end if it doesn't have one already
so the pic is shown and you don't end up with
the dreaded RED X

Hopefully this will help and we look foward to your pictures in the future

If anyone has ANY questions on this or photography in general, don't hesitate to PM me :)
