Ted and myself were thinking about heading for the Hills of St Franny and try to put in a few miles before we run out of daylight. Probably cross the ferry and have dinner somewhere on False River....... We need to get out or BR before 5:00....Any takers?

If we can meet at my office on N. Sherwood we can run back-roads with very little traffic resistance.

Guys-

I got the 640 last Saturday, getting my street legs back, and am in for tonight if we're still on.

Let me know the Where's and the When's, and I'll be there.

I will be breaking in a new bike so the pace will be rather slow and boreing....
are you familiar with the North Sherwood area?

No more Green KLR? What sort of trusty steed is in the stable now?

North Sherwood is fine. I used to sling packages, urrr, I mean carefully handle packages for Fed Ex here in town. I'm good all over town. Where's your office/meeting place? Where's it close to? Address to plug in to the GPS?

I need to talk to ya'll about riding jackets as well. I tried on a mesh Cortech I liked at Rad's yesterday, it fit great, but the hard shell elbow pads didn't fit close to the elbows. Am in a quandry of sorts.

I sold the Old Leg breaking KLR. I picked up a DL 1000. I had to get something a little more suited for my coast 2 coast trip this summer.

I don't have a physical address but if you take north Sherwood until it dead ends at Greenwell spring road look to your left and you will see a quick stop gas station. I should be there about 4:30. We need to get out of Baton Rouge ASAP it's about a hour and 20 minutes of backraods through Central Baker and zachary to get to St franny.

My cell is 225-223-0038 if you are running a little late.

I think I may be able to make that. I had PLANNED to go on the KLR for the first time but the red bomber left me walking AGAIN. Not real confidence inspiring for a transcontinental ride......
I guess it's to the dealer I go and a-Blackbirdin' I go too!

Not to be the bad guy, but I have a bit of info you may want to hear.

I passed through St Franny a couple weeks ago and the ferry was shut down due to the water levels being really low. You may want to check on that before you try to cross over to New Roads. My guess is that it's still shut down.

I ended up having to go to the "Old Bridge" to cross the river. That ride sucks... way too much 4 lane slab...

Guys- Thanks for welcoming me to the group. I don't think I could have had a better Thursday afternoon than to be riding the twisties in the hills of St. Frannie.

Anytime Chip. We normally get together every Thursday. You should try and make the ride on Saturday.

Good riding with you Chip. That 640 is going to be leading the pack on some of the DS rides we hit.
