I want to personally thank Doug Coles for taking time to plug our website to the local motorcycle show La Riders. Check out the email below.
Thanks Doug
Hello Bob,
Doug Coles here, with a suggestion for a future LA Rider TV segment.
The “Dual-Sport” scene in Louisiana is experiencing an unprecedented growth lately, to such an extent
that a brand new Forum Website has been established, namely "Dual Sport Riders of Louisiana"
www.DualSportRidersOfLouisiana.com (http://www.DualSportRidersOfLouisiana.com) <http://www.DualSportRidersOfLouisiana.com>
by local motorcyclist Brian Noble, AKA "Juicemonkey" as he is known on the website.
juicemonkey@cox.net <mailto:juicemonkey@cox.net>
This seems to compliment a world-wide Dual-Sport site www.ADVRider.com (http://www.ADVRider.com) <http://www.ADVRider.com>
but with a local flavor of the deep south. Ride-reports include treks through Louisiana & Mississippi
(among national destinations) with planned Coast-to-Coast Adventures in the works.
One of the popular spots locally (which I believe would lend a tremendous filming opportunity)
is the Bonnet Carre’ Spillway Recreation Park
<http://www.mvn.usace.army.mil/recreation/Recreation_Sites_Bonnet_Carre.asp>
which attracts all manner of ATV’s including Dual-Sports and Dirt (only) bikes because the kids can
come along and play as well as the adults.
The allure of a Dual-Sport seems to be the street legal motorcycle which can be ridden down the Interstate
to the back roads and then, when the road ends; you just keep on going!

Looks like even the Dual-Sport guys know good spots to eat as well…

Personally, my first bike was a 5hp mini-bike with a centrifugal clutch and no rear suspension,
then I had two Dual-Sport bikes before my first street only bike to commute to college.

I have not yet purchased another Dual-Sport motorcycle,
but after a demo ride on the new Buell Ulysses adventure sportbike...

the fever to return to the Dual-Sport bikes of my youth is getting worse!
Congratulations on the continued success of the LA Rider TV Show,
and many happy years to come!
Sincerely,
Doug Coles

Great e-mail! Lots of very useful information. We will certainly consider a Dual Sport segment. In fact I am about to add a third bike to my garage and having been taking a very close look at a couple of Dual Sports BMW’s. I am working on final production for tomorrow’s show but will check out all the links tomorrow.
Once again, thanks for the info and thanks for the kind words about LA Rider.
