I'm thinking about picking up one of these little rigs. I could leave my hot leather for the Rocket rides. I could throw a jersey over it and be protected while blazing down those gravel roads. Anybody got any experience with these things? Are they good for off-road use? I'm a bit concerned about it loading up with dirt and dust?

I need to get something too. Hell I must broke dem ribs 2 weeks ago at that KLR rally cause it still is hard to sleep unless I load up on Vitamen I ;)

I guess that's what you get for hot dogging in front of a crowd in the sand
Velocity gear makes these in fatboy size so this is prolly what I'll end up with (170.00)

Not bad Jay.......being a big boy myself I may look into something like that also. Looks like it's designed to fit under leathers as well.

Hmmmm, I am skeptical on those. But you never know.

The only thing that I am skeptical of is the Tarmac.
I speak from experience "ROAD RASH SUCK" even more so if there is a little dirt & gravel present in the gumbo. That Nurse in the ER with the brush cuts no man any slack.........

why not get a textile or offroad type jacket with protection in it/

That will work also Kev,
But these things will work a little better because they won't twist out of place as much and off superior chest and back protection

I guess Brian is planning on some moto GP action on the KLR. I keep having the dreams of more trail that tarmac. But it would def. make sense to have the extra protection. To me protection while on a dirtbike was a good set of boots, maybe knee brace, kidney belt (I never wore one), chest protector (def. need it at Glen Helen), and ofcoarse your pants and jersey..... not to forget helmet and goggles.

I like the stuff for bohn .. I wear there adventure shorts when I go riding ..

These shirts are designed with the adventure rider in mind—whether it's on the street or off-road.

Riding in the heat of summer can take away all the pleasure—so the body of these shirts is a tough, ventilated, flexible fine mesh. Armored arm/elbow, shoulder, chest and back elements are then attached onto the mesh.

Those won't work for off road .. I have 4 pairs of there Superduty pants ... they are great for rainy or cold weather .. but don't offer any real protection ....

Try Again :)

Shit don't tell me that......What would you recommend? I want something that looks good, is not extremely hot in the summer months and is very durable should I come face to face with the gravel again........ Something in Black or tan?
