I scored some used ohlins and installed them before I went to suches.
Damn they really do transform the bike.did bike swap with friends
same yr, same mileage GS neither of us could believe how crappy the stock
suspension is..... I always thought it great before the big O.....

I'm probably going to upgrade to a set of Wilbers on mine within the next 10k miles. Everything I've read, they seem to give a little better bang for the buck compared to the O's. Congrats on the score though Weave!!!

Nope, Ted blew his stock shock and had it replaced under warranty at 2000 miles. Weave, I don't believe the 12 shock will fit the 1150 will it? Nick, keeping your old shocks when you have a set of high quality aftermarkets is a good idea, since the Ohilns or Wilbers are rebuildable, you can slap the stock ones on when you send in the good stuff to be worked over. Unless there's another reason you want them Weave???

1150 and 1200 are different shocks, do keep your old shocks. Older bikes do not hold their values but quality acc. do

Just a small bump on this thread since I now have a set of Wilbers on order. I jumped on the group buy they had going on ADVrider and it looks like the new suspension will be ready around the end of January. I talked to Klaus and he's going to build the shocks to give me an extra 1/2" of suspension travel/ground clearance. Time to see if the upgrade will really be worth the money.
