Being that LA was flooded, we headed up to Hot Springs for the weekend. We got a taste of everything - rocky atv trails, gravel roads, creek crossings, and a wide variety of singletrack in the foothills.

The Fall colors are brilliant right now and should get even better in the next two weeks. I'm short on time right now but here are just a few pictures:

One of the few trails that wasn't covered with softball-sized rocks:

More Fall colors on the trail.

Those are great shots. The colors blend so well with the KTM orange.

I bought it new in Feb. 2004. We ride almost every weekend during the cooler months but right now the Natl. Forest is closed (too wet).

How about some directions as to where the trailheads are that y'all went too?

The trails were on private land, and I was invited by the local enduro club that maintains them. Honestly, I would not have attempted these trails on my DR650. Many sections of the trails were very narrow, steep and rocky. A couple of guys on 450 motocross bikes bailed out before lunch because it was too technical for their liking. I enjoyed the ride myself but was challenged to my limits several times. Anything more technical than that would have been "work" and not "play".

The county roads however are all over the place just South of Hot Springs. Take your pick really. If you want a good dual-sport trail ride, Mt. Magazine OHV area in the Ozark National Forest South of Clarksville is the BEST!! Last weekend they had the "Fall Colors Tour" dual sport ride in that area. Check out the ride report on Adventure Rider. The gps route is given in someones post. The pictures are great: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=177412
