Under the pretense of visiting the family unit, I made a quick trip to Fort Worth to check out the Cycleworld motorcycle show. I slyly invited FutireWife (who does not ride) to visit the FutureIn-laws, but when she declined it was decided that I would just have to take the bike and leave her the car. Yet another sacrifice on my part....asdf

At any rate, her are a few pics from along the way....

The route there. I followed a similar route on the way back.

I wasn't expecting any dualsporting, but I happened upon some dirt and gravel in Western Louisiana.

Sadly, there were no KTMs or Triumphs to drool over. There were apparently lots of other bikes there (I vaguely remember cutting through the HD display on my way to the restroom), but nothing that really registered on my radar. I picked up some RAM mount stuff and a heated jacket and called it a day.
(Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating a little... I kicked the tires on the V-Strom and the Ulysses, and the Urals and MotoGuzzis are always fun.)

A few shots from the ride home.

Smoking gun found in near Alto, TX!

Fun with the new camera mount.

All told: 1100 miles, some QT with the family, three days of fiancee approved riding and a new heated jacket (which came in handy for the 38F start yesterday!).

Nice route Doc. Like the pics, curious about the camera mount.

It is just the RAM ball mount with a round plastic base, threaded for a camera's tripod mount. I placed it on the longest arm they have available. It works pretty well, and I was even able to shoot a short video with it.

Doc...

Which bags are those on your bike?

They are the Happy Trails bags. They are normally 10.5" wide, but I wanted something smaller so they made me a 9" set. I like 'em, but the exhaust can does touch at one small point. I haven't had any major heat issues, but I have a Leo Vince can on order that will fit even better.
