These are a bunch of fine people that I got the pleasure of meeting at the Mc Skills Championship. Bottomline is that they are trying to make what we do a little safer. Please give them your support if you can.

Thanks, Doug!

TUESDAY NIGHT 11/28/06

For those who may not be familiar with our Police Chief…

Chief of Police Jeff LeDuff

LeDuff joined the Baton Rouge Police Department in July of 1983 and spent the majority of his career on a motorcycle.

Along the way he received numerous commendations, including a Life Saving medal, and was named Police Officer of the Year in 1992.

In September 2001, he was promoted to Sergeant.
He attended the 176th session of the FBI National Academy in 1994 and became the first attendee from Louisiana to be elected President of his class.

Throughout his career, LeDuff obtained instructor certifications in a number of police specialties and devoted more time to training police officers throughout south Louisiana in topics such as defensive tactics, tactical driving and racial diversity.

LeDuff eventually left motorcycles to become the head instructor at the Training Academy in November 2002.

LeDuff is a graduate of Port Allen High School and attended Northeastern Louisiana University and the University of Southwestern Louisiana. He and his wife Kasandra have a son, Kelly.

Great meeting tonight; but we need some Dual-Sportbikers to represent!

Many thanks to a local benefactor for his generous donation of this 1939 BSA motorcycle to promote the Motorcycle Awareness Campaign.

This bike was made in England at the Birmingham Small Arms factory that was damaged during bombing in WWII

The center stand is attached to the axle and an additional sidestand was specially designed to hold the bike up in soft soil.

Notice anything different about the speedo?

Police Chief LeDuff is a great guy and is truly committed to Motorcycle Awareness and Safety.

He outlined some programs that the City Government (and the Police department in particular) will execute in the near future to assist the motorcycling community and improve conditions in Baton Rouge.
Stay tuned, there’s more to come…

The LA Rider TV crew was there…
