I'm going, my deal is to bring my camping gear, stay at the nearby campground in Pelham, about 15 miles from the racetrack...this year I am going on to a long awaited trip...up through TN, Virginia , onto Gettysburg and a Civil War Battlefield tour. I'll probably have a similar schedule...leave earlly Friday, spend sat and sunday at the races, then backwards in time to the 1860s..

I', also planning a trip to the Cycleworld International MC show in atlanta,
end of Feb..

Glad to hookup with you Juice, or anyone else going that way.

I plan on going rain or shine seeing as how I missed it this year. However, Ash is due right around that time, so depending on how she is doing will be the determining factor on whether or not I'll be there. Cross your fingers.

Do you think that we need to reserve a few spots at the campground?

A few Hell. Why did we reserve them all and have a Rally in the hills via Birmingham?

The campground in Pelham has cabins and tent camping spaces, but I always reserve a spot...last year it rained at night several times so I spent thenight in a cabin, but the tent spaces have a covered area for each tent as well...
It's a nice ride to the racetrack, interstate or backroads

FYI .... Just checked hotels around Barber area (Leeds/Moody) all sold out!!!

Looks like area campgrounds or trackside camping is the way to go. Only problem with track camping is no nothings, just an open field.

Any ideas ????

Any updates on campgrounds .... Who's going .... Who's riding ????

If not camping at campgrounds or track, I guess you could find something in Birmingham

Thats the weekend after we get back from Deals Gap. I am trying to work it out so that I can be there. If this does happen for me I will be leaving on Friday night and coming home Sunday night.

I'll be there....we're staying in a hotel in Birmingham and caging it. Pray for nice weather. Two years ago, we froze our sacks off....last year was hot as a mofo, so who knows?

I like to set up at the lower end of turn 2, it's the first sharp turn adn the scene of lots of action inthe beginnign of the race..also close to the museum,
food, potty etc.

my favorite campsite is the Birmingham South...former KOA
http://www.birminghamsouthcampground.com/

they have tent sites with covered areas and cabins. In Pelham, AL, about 10-15 miles from track, nice ride.

oh man, it's getting close. I'll be there and Kenny even mentioned he might go. I'll get to see my two faves, the NR750 and, of course, the Britten. It's worth the trip just to see the museum.
