I'll be taking Ol' Smokey to Forrest Hills sometime soon and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with these tires in the loose stuff.

Sand and mud?
Not the best tire for it but if you lower your pressure down to 18-20 psi you might get by

Weight forward over the bars, legs dragged as necessary for rudders, stay on the gas. You're mostly flattracking, but with the torque that puppy has, you're not wearing yourself out. Think ice. No sudden changes. Your weight shifts drastically with the on/off throttle stuff and it can throw you. I've seen people lose it in gravel who didn't grasp the sudden changes thing. Also.... lean the bike. Do not be afraid to lean the bike. Leaning and applying power is a great way to steer.

Just relax and be consistent. And try to drag me along with you! I wanna fly Fang out there! Never been!

Those tires will manage... I've spent a few days in the Mississippi sand bars on mine... but some knobbies would be a BIG hlep!!!

Let us know when you're heading out there... you won't look silly when you crash if the rest of us are out there crashing also!!! :)

I hope so...I'm too cheap to buy new tires.

Will do. I'll keep you posted. (No pun intended)

Went across the street and found some mud. The Duros pack easily. I needed to keep them spinning fast to get anywhere. The front was a skid for the most part. Never got stuck.

Check the kisatchie website before you go. We have been trying to go for several weeks, and it has been closed due to rain.

I guess they're Ok, if you don't go too fast. It could get tricky in the slick roots. Wear all your protective gear and watch your speed at Forrest Hill. The biggest danger is the quads coming around the corners. You would be safer riding the Boy Scout Loop. It turns into single track where 4-wheelers are not allowed.
