Nice Pat. I hate to think how many of those trees I would have hit.

Thanks.

Unfortunately I didn't catch the accident on film. I was hooking up the camera when the guys started heading out so I had to put it up and jump on my bike. It would have been some great footage. I was haulin' arse when I let go. After I stopped rolling, I looked up to see my bike about 100' away still cartwheeling end-over-end. Dirtbikes are super tough. That kind of crash would have wasted a street bike but it only broke about $60 of plastic on my 2-smoker.

Hey, Fitty. I hit those darn things all the time, just not head on. You should see all the pine sap on my barkbusters. I smacked the helmet camera so hard during this ride, it split the lens cover on the mount.

Man, nice video, but the helmet staying stead in the side of the screen makes me sick... I have to hold up a sheet of paper so I couldn't see it. I guess it's the same reason I cannot play video games without puking.

Did you have a post of what camera set up you went with?

I've found that the best video footage (for watching) is having someone right in front of you. It attracts the viewer's eyes to focus on the rider in front of the camera. It can be dizzying otherwise. The 1st video I watched, I thought I needed some Dramamine. You need to focus on the bike ahead.

The camera I use is a Sony 480 from helmetcamera.com. The camcorder is a Sony DCR-42. I need to upgrade my computer so I can produce a better quality video. The playback on the camera is as clear as it can be but my computer limits me to a slower capture rate and "fuzzier" picture.

Here's # 4 (3 minutes)
The music is delayed by about 3 seconds at the start so DON'T adjust your speaker volume too soon:

Very nice. I have never ridden Forest Hill. I have heard many good things about the area. Anyone going back anytime soon?

Thanks.

The Forest Service has the trails temporarily closed because of the wet conditions. We'll need two weeks of dry weather before they will open it again. This time of year, that's like asking for a miracle. We usually just make a couple of road trips up to northeast Texas or central Arkansas during Jan. and Feb. while we wait for the National Forest to reopen here in LA. I think we're heading up to Meunster in TX next weekend (see Upcoming Rides) here on DSRL.

Hey, Scott. Good to see you here. You should borrow your bro's DRZ sometime if he'll let you. My DRZ is long gone, and a DR650 has taken its place.
