I find that my BLACK mesh pants still make me hot even though they breathe. Does anyone have a recommendation for some comfortable well ventilated mesh pants that are a lighter color. Black just absorbs way too much sunshine.

I don't suggest mesh gear. The mesh gear allows too much ventilation and blows away all your sweat and make you sweat more than you would if you're trenched in sweat but with a trickle of vented air to keep you cool.

I wear under armour hot weather gear under my mesh to wick away moisture.

The UA stuff helps a lot even when you're in full leathers and with the vents unzipped. With mesh gear, I don't think that you need UA stuff, the wind zips right through and keep everything fairly dry. Of course when you're in a very humid area, it doesn't work as well as in a dry air area, but it still helps quite a bit. Some of the mesh pants have solid nylon or cordura at the knees and at the hips, so you don't get a lot of air flow at that area, but the rest are pretty well ventilated.

I had some Fieldsheer pants simalar to that (black) and they where more geared for cooler weather riding. However what do I know... I didn't stay in a Holiday INN express last night!

Like a lot of the other guys mentioned, the mesh gear ends up being too ventilated in the extreme heat of our southern summers and your body's natural cooling system can't really work well. I know it may sound like I'm a bit biased, but only because I'm not sure what else is comparable out there. But the BMW Rallye II pants that I'm always wearing are perfect for any temperature above 40 degrees. The wind goes through them, but not enough to completely dry out your skin. They're waaaay too pricey and the only reason I have them is for finding them second hand or on clearance. Perhaps there's another company who makes some kind of dual-sporting pant that's similar though.

FWIW my Motoport/Cycleport air mesh kevlars work fine from freezing (with the liners in) to 95 degree 90% humidity. There is an inner liner that moderates the airflow and I have not experienced any problem with dehydration or dry skin.
