After installing a pair of Two Brothers cans on my DL-1000, the engine developed a hiccup at low RPM”S. @ 3,700 in 3rd gear it occurs like clockwork. As long as I am on the throttle the problem is not present.
I am sure that the problem is induced by the new exhaust profile. Will a power commander and custom map correct this problem? Is there any other alternative solution?

A PC should fix that plus provide other benefits as well - more power and/or better mpg. You may not need a custom map either. Check out both the TBR and PC websites and look for downloadable maps. Even if you can't find one specific to TBR any map for a DL1000 with slip ons may do the trick. I got good results from a Micron map for my VFR.

juice,i don't have a dl,but 3 of my buddies do. they have pulled out the secondary butterflies ,then remapped and fine turned the stock boxes . if you have a good service guy at suzuki, they can reprogram the F.I.
hope it helps,jeff

Yes, it will help if you can either find a map, pay someone to make a map, or sit down and do it yourself. I don't think the '06 Strom FI can be changed without an additional unit such as a PC. Kevin or Keith (can't remember his name) at Lightspeed will know for sure. (It's the guy who's race bike is always sitting out on the floor.) He was talking about all that when I picked up the Strom.
Another point. 99% of the fuel injection maps from the factory are lean, very lean in the low range, kind of lean in the mid-range, and just about right for wide open throttle. That's one way of getting the bikes to meet the emission standards. That being said... I have never seen anyone with a PC get better gas mileage. I have personally seen PC's with proper maps knock mpg down my as much at 15 mpg. You can lean the whole map out via the buttons on the face of PC, but then you are pretty much negating the reason you put the power commander on in the first place. (You put the PC to richen up the lean spots which makes the engine run smoother.)
Did you remove the PAIR system? The PAIR system jacks with the oxygen sensor too much when the stock exhaust is changed. Typically, it causes very lean spots in the map because it is pumping in too much fresh air for the reduced back pressure. If you have not removed the PAIR system take it out and then ride for a week or so and see if that helps. Bikes with an oxygen sensor are pretty good about adjusting to changes like exhaust and airbox mods on their own.
I like power commanders because they are fun to play with, but knowing the GPS history I would say make sure you can find a map before you get one. Otherwise it's going to cost you another $200 to $300 for someone to dyno the bike and build you a map.

I have experience with a power commander. I had a PC-2 with custom map made for my RC-51 and it worked just about as well as my GPS.

Well, I have to agree with you on this one man. I had a PC II on my TL with a supplied map for my pipes and filter, and a PC III on the Futura with a custom map done to it. The PC on the Futura went for a year and a half before running like shit and causing problems with fuel delivery. I pulled it off and everything worked perfect the minute I fired it up. The TL went a little longer and just recently neffystl had to pull it to get the bike to run right. I don't know if they go bad with time or a good beating, but I'm 0 for 2 with Power Commander.
If I end up having to remap this 750 I'll probably opt for a Yosh box instead.

the answer is yes it should help.... the cans you put on were just slipons though right?
In MOST instances you shouldn't need a PC3 for a slipon but sometimes the bikes just run so lean from the factory that a tiny bit more flow may start making the hickups and such....
What'd you end up doing with that exhaust Y thing? If you didn't replace it theres a chance that its preventing some of the exhaust flow and making the exhaust gases backup as well...
