That's right boys and girls, I just got a two piece Roadcrafter suit for about $100! Let me explain:
New, the suit costs almost $750 off the rack. Any tailoring or extras are, well, EXTRA. Anyway, I have been watching these things and trying to talk myself into un-assing that kind of money for a riding suit. I took a hint from Nick and started watching ebay. Just yesterday morning I found the right size and color that I was looking for. It's used, but judging by the pics it was probably a GS rider who used it to go to Starbucks. (Sorry Ted, couldn't resist!) It looks perfect! Not so much as a scuff or stain. Anyway, I used the 'Buy it now' option to purchase it for $550 plus shipping.
But wait, you said it was $100?
.....allow me to ellaborate further:
Tiffany gave me a $150 Visa gift card for Christmas that was supposed to go to new boots. Well, I found new boots on ebay before she could give me the card so I never used it.
Suit cost now: $400
As I was telling some guys here at work about what I just bought, one of them came up to me and told me that he just spoke to the big boss and had a $300 spot bonus coming my way for all the work I have been doing setting up our gym out here on Thunderhorse.
Do the math....I'll wait.
Suit cost now: $100 plus a minor pittance for shipping! Not bad for an $800 suit!
I know, you're all jealous as hell. I can feel it.
Now I should be all toasty and warm, not to mention DRY every time I ride and especially on the road to Alaska next year!
