These pictures are from 2 weekends ago. It was going to be a mix of dual-sport and pure off-road riding but the weather changed things. The event is held once a year in Bismark, Arkansas (just South of Hot Springs). This year the weather turned cold on us Friday, and then we got about an inch of sleet and snow Friday night. It ran a lot of people off but still some drove all the way from New York (1400 miles!). I think the turnout last year was about 200. We still had a blast and enjoyed making some new friends from the North (Wisconsin, Missouri, Minnesota, New York).
Saturday is when these pics were taken, and the high was about 29 degrees. We stayed off the roads on purpose (too cold), and tried to get the blood pumping hard on the single track so we would generate some body heat. With only two thin layers on, I actually stayed quite warm. This was not a day for a easy tour down the gravel road but I am dying to go back this Spring with my DRZ400S. The place is awesome. Bismark is located on Hwy 7 about 15 miles North of Caddo Valley as you are heading from Texarkana to Hot Springs.
