View Full Version : Offshore Peeps
Not sure where to put this, so feel free to move it.
For you offshore guys, I've subscribed to rigzone for the past 2 years, and I never see any electronics techs positions posted. Is there another avenue to look for these positions? I've talked with a few people that work on ships/rigs and they all agree that an ET position would be right up my alley...just not sure where to go from here. Any input appreciated.

One of the best ways is to just start visiting offices, go to personel, and start applying. Just like anything else, it's a number's game. All of the drilling contractors need ET's so if you're looking for an offshore job then start with Transocean, Diamond ($35/hr I'm hearing), Noble, Pride, etc. There's always the service companies, but that could be a craps shoot depending on the company as to whether or not you'll be on land or offshore. Online isn't a very good place to find an oilfield job as a lot of oilfield companies are still run fairly "old school". A firm handshake, a decent resume, and the ability to pass a drug screen will go a lot farther than an e-mail will.

That's more of how I operate, so that's good to hear. Thanks for the help. Now all I need is a decent resume and a haircut.

This is for Transocean, that's who I've been working for the past 13 years. It's hard to say which company is the best to work for,,,,they all have their good and bad points to them. Just like any other job in the world does.
Just trying to help out here.
Thanks, Guys. I will check that out this weekend. Frank, I got your PM too. Thanks man.

Any luck Ben?
Any luck Ben?
I actually found quite a few postings at oceaneering that I would fit right into. I sent my resume in to all of those. Hopefully I'll get a chance to do the same thing at the deepwater site soon.
Does anyone here have any contacts at CapRock Communications?
