Coming from Essen it would be easier for you to meet me in Zachary or Jackson. You could jump on I-10 and run down to the Baker/Zachary exit. There is a Exxon Station on the corner of Hwy 19 and main street in Zachary. I could meet you there say 5:00?

Believe it or not. I am quite comfortable sitting on the bike. I suppose it keeps my back in a straight line. I am by far more comfortable sitting on my bike then i am laying in the bed. Maybe I should sell my bed? qwer

They serve BBQ and it's a biker friendly place that is a bar,with that has big screens, pool tables and bbq for a fair price and is easy to get to with decent parking (by downtown standards)

Only things that could kill it would be late meetings, (medium potential today as we have staff weenies in the house) or big rain in my way for the ride down to the Exxon. I don't mind riding in the rain, I just hate staying in wet clothes afterwards. (I need a rain suit....)

I'm pretty open to that Kev. My office is on the north side of town so its not as big of a issue for me. Last time that we rode St Franny on a Thursday we met at the quick stop on the corner of N Sherwood and Greenwell springs. It might be easier for people coming from the south side of BR just to meet in Jackson.

Not sure about that far up, but there is a crossing in Zachary that makes the one from last Thursday look FLAT.

The crossing is on Church Street just North of the town center. It's about 6' above the two roads that parallel the tracks. If you hit it at more than about 30 in a car you dig the front end in on the way down.

I'd love to make this one but the chain on my DR might not. It's stretching fast. I've adjusted it twice on two short rides. I'd better not take a chance. I've witnessed a worn chain flatten the teeth on a sprocket last year, and my sprockets "aint" lookin pretty to begin with. A new chain and sprockets are
coming in Friday so I might be able to make it Sunday.

I still have the SV but it's being adopted next week.

I plan on running Vaughn creek to 61 to Slingo then highland to Old Tunica. I think we are going to have a few sport bikes. That would be great if you can come. That way we could split the group for the guys that don't want to ride gravel. We could then meet up at the restaurant.

Dumb question for a West Feliciana resident I guess but where exactly does olld tunica end up? And how will you get from there to the Mag? I am on the KLR today but will have time to head home and switch bike before I meet y'all in Jackson. (Actually, the intersection of 10 & 19 is McManus. Jackson is at 10 & 68 but there are no gas stations on that corner. There is an Exxon AND a Mobile about quarter mile west).

Of course I can only speak for myself, but I enjoyed it the two times I ate there. And the wife seemed to enjoy it as well. Hey your server even writes their name backwards when the come to the table!!! LOL

TJ Ribs is very nice food and nice on the wallet. If you haven't eaten there yet, I would try to make it. I wouldn't try on an LSU game day though unless you love overly crowded restaurants. It might even be a decent destination for a regular Thursday ride except for the fact it might be hard to get a table there for more than 6 at that time of night (unless you make a reservation).

As far as everyone watching the game, if there is one thing I have learned in my short time here it is this.

Don't plan any group events on an LSU game day unless it involves watching the game. Any attempts to break this rule will come into heavy resistance (unless you're dealing with a bunch of transplants who don't care less about football, then the town is your oyster as along as you stay away from LSU's campus).
