All I can say is wow. I've been up in that area and that seems to be the pervasive attitude. There is no self-pity or feelings that something is owed to them that is so apparent here and in the more 'civilized' areas. If more people would be as self-reliant and basically USEFUL to society then maybe we would all have a little more pride in our country and their fighting men and women.
I can't spell her name but kudos to the painter lady.
