Calling ALL members of the Motorcycle enthusiast community...Here in Louisiana, a group of concerned
riders has formed The Motorcycle Awareness Campaign. The goal is to promote safe driving among
auto/truck owners and motorcyclists with safety as the ultimate objective.
To gain momentum, the group is seeking new ideas, members and any other support.
Please visit the site: www.macorg.com And do what you can to help promote the safety of
motorcyclists on the roadways.
Thanks

I do a lot of work at refineries, even spent 18 mo in Baton Rouge once. The one, I been working at, has "safety meetings" where they get guest speakers.
I volunteered last March, and did a show on motorcyclist awareness. The Presentation revolved around a CD that the MSF sells, called "motorcycles - a common road." Then I tried to present it that, as car drivers, they still can be influential on motorcycle safety. My theme was don't take the approach "hey kid, you can shoot your eye out with that BB gun" but more on rider eduaction, where it is, what it is, positive results from MSF stats, etc. Positive advice they can give.
Then we went over some things that might look confusing when watching a M/C, like crossing RR tracks at an angle, leaving directionals on by mistake, etc.
They all left with better understanding of what a bike might be doing and what they can say constructive to their neighbors, sons, daughters, dads etc. getting into motorcycling. I got some really positive feedback in the halls for weeks.
