I'm interested if the weather is decent. I've been wanting to check out the roads in that area. I'm assuming that this is near Folsom, right?

We'll probably make it although it will be 1-2pm. Mona has a hair appointment at 10am Saturday.

Exact location, as promised...
N30 40.647
W90 1.557
Google (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=n30+40.647,+w90+1.557&ie=UTF8&ll=30.689297,-90.026093&spn=0.12961,0.233459&z=12&iwloc=addr&om=1)

Sorry, it has no mailing address, so... here is what you need to know to find the place:
Bradford rd is the road you need to turn onto, but there is no marking of any kind for it. Where Bradford road and Parker road meet Hwy 16 (look at the Google map) there is a bridge; Bradford is the gravel road. about 1/2 or so of a mile down the road (right where the mapped road ends) the road splits - go left!! my house is the very first building on the right (road takes a few more turns before you find buildings). my Cell number is 443.871.7840 i know a few people will get lost...

For those that want to ride a short (but oh-so-sweet) ride we might can arrange that. and i'm going to do this Rain or shine, so don't let that sway you .

Man, I wish I could make this. When you decide to do it again give me a little more time to make some plans. When you got 3 hungry kids at home, its not always so easy to get away on such short notice. You guys have fun and take some pictures....

We're going to give it a shot.

According to my map program, Bradford Rd is 15.1 miles from the intersection of 10/25 & 16.

'Course, most people are probably not coming in from the North.

Don't have the skills? Let's see...

1) Turn throttle until bike reaches a cruising speed of 70 mph.
2) Watching scenery and others around you.
3) Occasionally press brakes when the object in front of you slows down.
4) Gas up when the fuel light comes on.

Sounds pretty simple, you can do it! :)

well doi i realize i CAN do it.. but with 80% chance of rain (which really i shouldnt be afraid of being i learned to ride in the rain) along with greg screwing up his bike and having to take it to the shop...

i think the bigger issue is my butt isnt made of iron yet like you folks... after exactly an hour of riding (my bike or bitch) It starts getting tired, as well as my hands. Im not trying to be a whiney bitch, because usually i am not... but my longest ride is about 1.5 hours so far.

ill get there! i swore last year id have a bike in a year, and i did that... so far so good :)

:P

So how did it go?

Turnout was a tad slim, (short notice and all) though it was a nice ride and a neat place.

Very cool setup. Stilt cottage 20' above the Bogue Chitto. Sitting on the porch watching the tubers/rafters float down the river, all I cound imagine was bringing a chainsaw next time for a little foliage remediation so we could set up a water balloon slingshot and bomb the floaters unless they showed us their Bobies.

With proper advance notice, this would be the place for a good party.
