THANKS for the reply. I'm 6mi south of Lafayette in Broussard. I'm from Chalmette, in St. Bernard parish so I'm not failiar with any motorcycle dealers. My good buddy Freddie Schmidt ran a BMW dealership and E&E motors in New Orleans so I had a good mechanic and friend. After Katrina I don't know where to go for expert help. I just bought this 1100i california from NH and it has problems. Got the Guzziology book but its for all models and is not specific to mine. I guess I'll take it to Baton Rouge unless someone tells me anything bad about them. Then I'll have to try Houston I guess. Any advice would help.

I can't say anything good or bad about them. I have no experience with them. They are a new shop that has been open for less then a year..... Good luck and let us know what you find out.

I'll get the bike over to them next week if I can get an appointment. I went to their web page and they have a form to fill out. Maybe they want to look over my problem first. I'm trying to straighten out the rats nest wiring. Lots of poor conections I'm eliminating before giving it to a professional mechanic. Might look into Houstan dealer also. Have you heard anything about them? later....

Don't know what exactly is wrong. I can tell you that one of the best Guzzi dealers in the country is just West of you in Houston, Texas.
MPH Cycles. http://www.mphcycles.com/
Todd Haven is the parts guy, his brother Mike is the sales/service guy.
Load the bike up and take it to them. Don't waste your time with someone unfamiliar with the brand...

I don't know the guys in BR, but they sound like a scooter dealer who happens to carry all of Piaggio's brands. Vespa, Aprilia, Guzzi.
The problem with a lot of these new dealers is that Guzzi volume is so low, they take a long time to learn the motorcycles. Guzzis are not complicated, but they are different and idiosyncratic. Long-term dealers know all the ins and outs...
I'd take my bike to Houston if I lived in Lafayette...

THANKS ROCKER59 thats what I've been thinking about doing, going to Houston. What ever is wrong its going to take some special training to fix. I've had a couple of gosses a long time ago an Eldorado it was very dependable., a sport and something else I can't remember. I had a friend who had a E&E shop and I got bargains from him . Lost track of him after KATRINA. This one just needs more than I can give it to run. Miss the CARB bikes. Thanks12

The latest on my sick goose. Moto Sport in Baton Rouge Wasn't interested in the repair, they were honest and said it would cost me too much to repair the wiring problem and I might do better elsewhere. No charge for looking. Bike now at Euro Sport in Lafayette,Art the mechanic and owner is gonna try to find the orginal handle bar complete assembly switches and all. The problem is the guy who sold me the bike put a harley handle bar assemblt on and now there is an electrical problem some where. Again the mechanic says it will take too long to trace all the mismatched wires. Anyone know where I can find a 90s gossie bike being parted out. My search is all over the internet. Plese let me know off any suggestions.........Thanks12
