I just spent $108.00 on four pair of Under Armour underwear..... I suppose that is a small price to pay to help reduce the risk of monkey butt in the desert but dammit, I still feel cheated............Bable12

Do they have Motorcycle specific stuff? The one's on the UA website are only $20/pair. qwer (Or was the shipping that high?)

UW is UW... You're paying more for the fiber than anything else. I still have to go buy some of that stuff too, not looking forward to it. I looked at the imitation stuf Wally World sells but it is way to small for me (my balls cried out in horror when I even looked at it).

Now I'm goign to display some ignorance, but what exactly is Monkey Butt? I'm going to guess it is the shavfing if the cotton should dry out and dry-rub your skin.

just the standard UA underwear. $24.99 each at Academy sports.

Just a note that the Academy on Airline has no long sleeve in anything bigger then X-L. I'm going to try the one on Seigen this afternoon.

The first time you have to wash them in a hotel sink, and they're completely dry 4 hours later, you'll be glad you bought them. Not to mention how much your ass will thank you during those 800 mile days. I've tried a few cheaper brands that are also 100% polypropylene but have yet to find anything as comfortable or as well made as the name brand underarmor. I never thought I'd be as picky about my underware as a woman is until I started riding on long trips.

When combined with non-cotton riding pants there is nothing that I've found to be more comfortable in the saddle. Stu....you are somewhat correct. Monkey-butt is chafing, but usually from a sweaty ass. The synthetics help wick moisture away to try and stop this.

No but they do make compression long pants for bike riders that are padded in the crotch area. I wish I could have bought 4 of those instead of the underwear but at $40.00 each I only got one and plan to do a lot of sink washing......

Don't take our word for it man. Get out on the highway for two 800 mile days......one in cotton and one in UA. You'll be spending $100 on four pair too. At the end of a long day 25 bucks is dirt cheap to prevent that kind of bow legged, slow walk, don't-go-anywhere-cause-it-hurts-to-move feeling.

I have those for my bicycle. The only kicker is if you were to hand wash them you'd have to spend a good bit of time with a hair-dryer drying out the padded part (that sucker would get some kind of stink after a few days of washing and not completely drying out). But they would add a good bit of comfortable to the ride (probably good for a final day jaunt back home).

I have been happy with the cheaper stuff at Wal Mart. It seems to work fine but maybe not as durable as the UA. After several hand washings and wringing dry they have developed a few "pills". I think that's what you call them. Just cosmetic tho, which is not a problem for underwear, unless you get lucky in the desert.

Another source for this type of underwear is www.wickers.com. I buy the softsilk version for summer. They have several different weights for different temps. Longsleeve and full length pants even in the summer. Cooler than short sleeve.

Added benefit is GREAT customer service, and the owner is a former military guy. Good people to do business with!Thanks12

Here is another great site to buy high quality underwear. Check out the great hats on there too!. I could not stand out in the sun all day on the range at Hammond without my Tilley hat!

Well there certainly is a lot of advice about snatch, so underwear seems a fairly natural fit.

The UA stuff is worth its weight in gold. Shit come to think of it I bet per lb its more expensive than gold.

The best I've ever found is Pearl Izumi and you can find it at most bicycle shops.

When dealing with the threat of "monkey butt" I've found nothing that is more effective than highly concentrated zinc oxide cream, and nobody makes a more effective product than Walgreens. Their recipe is almost overkill. It smells nasty but it's highly effective. There is no better test to this than an 80-mile enduro in the heat of Summer.

How are those new $108.00 underwear holding up Juice Box? Are they to your standards?
