Ok lets get the plans on this one rolling early so everyone can make it...
As I said in the other thread any lafayette/texas riders gonna be able to make it in? I hate riding alone at nite especially on that bridge ick....
Restaurant ideas? did we give up on hooters? some place new?

I'll throw this one out there... A friend of mine and I, went to The Caboose in Hammond, today... steaks were great, excellent service... nice restaurant... If there is a need to get out of BR and ride, for a bit... it's about 40-45 min east from BR via I-12...

Change out the tampon every so often. That's probably what's bothering you.

How about Landry's in Henderson. That could be good for both the BR crowd and the LAF crowd. Just a suggestion. Good food.

caboose, is a nice restaurant... if the nice Jag, porsche, and vette, that was parked out front is any clue.. It may be better suited for a weekend ride, given where it's at... I just threw it out there...

That is the one. Just seems like a more central location for the meet.

haha you're picking a central location at a seafood house between yall and the probably 1 person in louisiana who hates seafood lol... better off going with that place in breaux bridge.... I don't mind riding up to BR just hoping someone will ride up with me...

I'm from Lafayette and might do this meet. I'm new at this, and would like to meet other 50ish local dualsporters who prefer more offroad/backroad, at relaxed paces. I'm a re-entry rider, need more experience rather than pushing the limits for now.
Got a 1991 Suz DR650S in good shape about 3-4 weeks ago. I occasionally ride the basin's gravel topped levees, usually rides are spur of the moment. Wouldn't mind a few folks to call last minute sometimes.
If the meet spot is Henderson, I think I can make it. Anyone wants to meet in Lafayette for this short ride, give me a ping.

If it's on this side the bridge, I can probably make it.
I've only been to the BR meet/greet once. It's hard to talk the wife into going to BR on a work night... plus I don't get out of the office until close to 6:00 most days... it's hard to get to BR early enough to spend any amount of time there. Hell... it takes half an hour just to get to I-10 from my house during rush hour traffic.
We can always make it a two nighter... Thursday night in BR, Friday night in Laf. We can hit Down Town Alive while it's still going.
Just throwing ideas out...

Cajun: on thursday I get out of work at 5 so if you can get out round then also we can ride up together....
I tried the Lafayette thing but unfortunately I think we only have 3-4 members on here from Lafayette so it didn't go over too well....

Oh well... too bad we don't have more Lafayette members.
There is a ride in during the Festival International here in Lafayette. It's the Valkyrie Riders Cruiser Club. Oct 12 through 15. I'll be there with what looks to be about 50 other bikes (mostly Valks).
If nothing else, the festival is usually pretty good.

I'm in today. No promises for tomorrow. If I'm home then I'll be there, but still no word on when I'm going back to work.

I'm in Youngsville and I hear ya. The demands of a wife and a 9 month old makes week nights (and some weekends) hard to break away, but I might be good for this. Will be a good starter prior to a weekend of riding and LSU football. I've been looking to meet up with the guys on this board and this might be doable for me. Will confirm later today. Looking forward to it.

You have some good roads to ride between Youngsville and Henderson so it should be an easy ride if you can get away. I am originally from Lafayette and I used to run those roads all the time when I worked in the oilfield.

That was mellowed out. Besides, this is a case where it was more fun to set up the joke than execute. The fact that the set-up got your riled is proof in the pudding. :)
