Does anyone know MG DAVE? I'm hoping that he might want to fix my bikes problem. The mechanic who has my bike is going to ask GUZZI DAVE if he wants to take over with my wiring problems. I have heard that MG DAVE is the local guzzi expert. I hope that he will try to fix the wiring. I should have listen to the member who told me to go to MPH in houston, Tx.BobiesWiggle

THANKS DUSTY I should have said that GOOSIE DAVE is in LAFAYETTE..--- I'm in the area also. I heard a lot of good stuff about Dave being a gossie expert. The mechanic who has my bike is going to try to get Dave on my project. If not the guys in Houstan said they will take it into their shop. I should have taken the advice offered here a month ago. Live and learn I guess.

Thanks for your reply JUICE. I would not put it that way The mechanic spend a lot of time working on the bike, he did not charge me a dime, and He refused anything. He said that he did not fix it so I don't owe him anything. I'm sure he could have fixed it but he said I would be be better off getting someone who works on MG a lot & is more familiar with my 96 Cal . MPH is getting it next week. I should have taken the advice given to me a month ago right here. MORE LATER..... I found Guzzi Dave he was sitting on the side of the road waiting for help to fix a flat tire. He is on his way to a rally .He only works on his own bikes he said end of that lead.....

If it didin't cost you anything it was worth a shot. For what it is worth I would have done the same before i drove to houston. Good luck and let me know how it turns out for ya.

ROCKER 59 is the guy who back on 8/10/07 told me to go to MPH and see the HAVER BROTHERS. I should have listened but my old desire to get home town people to do things for me, keep the jobs local. Also I did not want to go through the hassle of driving through all that traffic...LAZY gets you everytime I quess.. Hell I should have bought the bike local but I wanted another goose..and there aren't many around LA. for sale....LATER..

I got a newer bike friday in Al. 2004 MG Stone 1100. it has 3950 miles on it. Today I rode into 3 mail boxes and cut my hand pretty bad, bike is ok jusy minor injury. First time in50 years that I had an accident. I have a96 Cal at MPH waiting for them to fix its electrical problem. Real embarrasing trying to hide a bandaged hand with 7 stiches but I'm gona ride as soon as bleeding stops. I'm on COUMADIN to keep blood thin to prevent strokes Heart Problem Getting Old susks but the alternative is worst riding makes a person feel younger mail boxes suck also.... STUFF HAPPENS....

THANK YOU JUICE your efforts here makes me smile, it helped me make up my mind to get back on a bike. I had 12 bikes all together I never put a scratch on any of them. Thank GOD I had a helmut because my head hit the road real hard, helmut ok. I thought it was the young rice burners who always got in wrecks. watch out for that old dude on the red guzzi.

My Review on the Stone after owning one and logging 30 k miles.
The stone is definitely unique in its form and design but Moto Guzzi failed to develop a "snug" and more reliable shifting system. While riding this motorcycle, you'll constantly find yourself struggling with the gears which by the way, without being asked for will "shift" on you or simply fall into "neutral" when up-shifting. Coming to a full stop and then moving right along without resting your feet on the ground has become a scary experience since you will not be able to find first gear without "stomping" the shifter several times. At one point, while going from 4th to 5th, the rear tire simply locked up. Had I not being paying close attention, the bike would've thrown me off the seat! In summary, I was satisfied with my Stone. Too bad the transmission is horrible but it does have other things that make up for it, such as the plenty of torque available and the reliability of Moto Guzzi. If you're not an experienced rider, get yourself a Suzuki. Otherwise, do go for a big twin, like the Guzzi.

This is #3 guzzi. they all had clunky transmissions. I also had a couple of BMWs they too were clunky and noisy. The 04 is the closes thing to a new bike for me. I'm sure that some JAP CRAP would have a better transmission and would ride much better but it would sound like a singer sewing machine and I would think about all the things the JAPS put our men through in the 40s. yea I know I'm HOMOPHOBIC and a RACIST but I will not ride a Rice Burner even if it the best bike in the world. The guy who works on English & European bikes in Lafayette calls Goosies Tractors. That too is OK with me its parts of the fun to ride a bike you can respect andmaybe love a little bit. Crazy but thats me.I'm gona try the picture thing.I've been riding for 50 years and would never , nerver ride a bike called suzy, but thank you for the well intended suggestion. I've probably rode at least 100,00 miles mostly on BMW and moto guzzis witha BSA and Triumph thrown in for good measure. Yes I've pushed them home a few times. but thats LUCAS electrics, prince of darkness. I've missed each one but it was time to try another bike from time to time......
