I want to thank Juice for what he has done and is doing to help promote Gulf Area Mini Roadracing Association.
This is a growing sport and we have some of the most technical tracks that are available for the sport. The tracks include Lafayette, LA, Jackson, MS, and Saucier, MS. We also have the rules setup to keep things as enexpensive as we can. Some of the other clubs require a 15000.00 dollar investment to run in the top 5 of even the smallest displacement classes. We at GAMRA do not want this to be what heppens in our club. We want this to be fun and affordable. That is why we have a head modification rule in place that requires the head to remain in the stock configuration for all classes except Super Motard. This rule eliminates the 5000.00 dollar Tacagowa kits for the Honda 50. Some of the clubs that my son has raced with has had CRF50's racing in them that had over 15000.00 dollars invested in them. This takes the affordability out of the sport and it becomes a contest of money instead of rideing ability.
My hope is that younger riders can learn for the older riders and keep them from makeing some of the mistakes we have made in years past and teach them to respect safety and become safer riders.
