I agree. We've had so much going on lately with the family that I've barely been able to ride much myself. Right now it's looking like early December will be my next best shot.

Yes Ma'am. When it's in the lower 20's you can use all the heat you can get. I've got a trip to Atlanta the last week of November and one in Mid-January. I don't want to take any chances with temps on a 9-hour trip if the Southeast hits a cold snap.

Ask Juice how much he wishes he had heated grips during our Arkansas ride last year! The grips on my GS, along with really good insulated gloves, have been factors that allow me to ride when the temperature has dipped into the teens. Without one or the other my hands would have froze in that kind of air.

There's one thing I like about Buell factory accessories. They fit. First time. No mods. The kit even included the 9/64" drill bit and a drilling template that mounted to existing holes in the handlebar so there was no way to screw up drilling the new holes required to hold the left grip in place. (The OEM left grip was glued on.) Wiring was designed to interface with the factory plugs under the flyscreen so there was no splicing required. Super simple. About a 2-beer job.
They seem to heat up pretty quickly so I guess now I am waiting for the mornings to drop into the 30s to see if they help. I expect they will.

A nice 33 degrees up here this morning.
Not bad at all. With a neck cover and the grips, The ride was fairly comfortable. I think the last thing left is to add a little bit to the top and bottom of the hand guards to get a little beter wind blocking.

gave all the gear a good test on wednesday riding up here to Arlington. hit a massive thunderstorm north of alexandria for about 40 miles. stayed dry as a bone. finally got through the front and the temperature dropped into the high 30s for the last 200 miles. only part that got cold was my arms and chest.
that has now been rectified by a gerbings heated jacket liner.
report on that sunday night from atlanta.

tested the gear the last two days. rode 465 miles from arlington to slaughter in a constant downpour saturday. thank god i bought the vest. ended up a little wet, but made it with no ill effects.
today i headed to atlanta and arrived in just under 9 hours. good ride basically dry except for the last 50 miles. the grips and vest are total life savers.

The saga continues:

Added gloves and replaced the single controller with a dual today from BWM of Atlanta. On the short ride back to the G-P building (20 minutes) in 38 degree sleet, (damn weatherman, I left the "stitch" back at the hotel.), I was able to discern that I should have purchased the gloves when I purchased the jacket.

Now you just need to add the Gerbing pant liners and socks and we can ride to the South Pole!

I was in jeans, riding in freezing rain. they didn't have a pair of pants in my size or i'd'a dropped another $250 on them.
