Since I am brand new to this street motard thing, I need some help. My Duke II has 17" wheels front and rear. Currently, I have dunlop qualifiers on it. I do not (at this moment) have any plans on needing such sticky rubber on this bike. While I DO want traction, I am willing to compromise just a bit of the traction abilities that I don't plan on needing and and would like something that works well on asphalt (probably 80+% of my riding plans) and also has some treads suited for dirt road experianced in local riding.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Also, the stock tire sizes are a 160/60-17 rear and a 120/70-17 front. I am willing to accept a little bigger front tire (if anyone even makes one) to offset a bit of the "twitchyness" I get from this bike. Does anyone make a 1xx/80 or something like that in a 17.

Let's see what ya'll can come up with.
Thanks

You have four options. The Pirelli MT 60-R, Dunlop K188, Avon Azaro and Avon Distanzia. I am not a fan of Avon and I am a huge fan of Pirelli. The Pirelli's are more expensive, but their grip is far superior. They work fairly well off-road and their on-road grip is amazing. Check out this web site for prices and sizes. http://www.motostrano.com/supermototires.html

Thanks. Looks like I'll be getting a set of Pirelli's
