Someone mentioned I should post this here because we do have a few KLRs in the mix. So here ya go!!
March 1st and 2nd
Tech Day close to New Orleans (Just across the "pond")
I don't feel like typing the whole thing... so follow this link:
Tech Day Thread (http://www.klr650.net/forums/showthread.php?t=38010)
I'm trying my best to make it over there. Maybe I'll see a couple of ya!
That was me Cajun
If any of you guys still have the original "doohicky" in your KLRs
there's no better place to change one than at a KLR tech day ;)

do the 08's have the doohickey already installed, or do they need them replaced as well?

08 needs the spring changed. the doohickey is improved, but supposedly the aftermarket one is still a little better

so, if you go to the trouble to do the spring, might as well do the doo as well... I've seen the process online... looks tedious..

thats my opinion. i would do both. iirc its $40 for the entire "kit"

Its $89 for the Kit.. $138 for the kit with the tools..
Still not that much if you weigh it against the cost of an engine..
Assuming I can make it.. I will be doing mine at the tech day..
Thanks for the post Cajun,
I'd like to make this one.
Doohickey should be fine but it's time to check my KLR's valve adjustment.
Ordered an assortment of valve shims and a valve cover gasket today.
Would like to head out early Sat morning but no particular time.
Anybody want to meet up and catch some breakfast?
Who's in?!?

Tripwire!
I live about 17 miles from you.Have all dohickey tools and spare springs, around 15 shims.
I have done the Do 4 times. Valves 6.
The bads news is I'll be in Daytona,Scrub,Miami and Key west till March 9 (on the KLR685cc).
Good news is I'll let you in my shop if you need anything. The wife will be home.
I suspect you are the KLR I've seen going down my street. My house has the 93 KLR tank as a mailbox.Tween 36 and 41.

Chuck,
Tripwire isn't on this board, so I'm going to copy you message to him on the other board. I'll keep it in a private message since your phone number is in there.
