I tried this Scorpion helmet on at a dealer the other day and it was really nice.
It has this pump under the chin which inflates these small bags behing the cheek pads, pushing them firmly into your cheeks.
The inner shield that it has is also really nice. I would think of putting a Light Smoke inner shield AND Light Smoke outer shield if I would buy this helmet. During bright, day, conditions use both shields together and just the outer light smoke ONLY at night.
It is super easy to change the shields also.
As far as comfort, it was as nice as my Aria and Suaomy (which have been the most comfy I've had) and the shield is as easy to change as HJC or Shoei.
It has a FULLY removable liner to wash the funk out.
I think it is going to be either this or a flip-up style helmet.
Here is a link to the new, to me, helmet that Scorpion is offering.

Here is a short video about the helmet's features.

Thats the scorpion EXO 1000... I have the scorpion EXO 700 which is basically the same helmet minus the pump and the flip down sun visor... the interior is also removable and all that...
There have been a lot of reviews on the helmet... I think the consensus is the pump is pointless... the flip down visor is convenient but isn't as good as a tinted visor or a pair of sunglasses... just good in an emergency/in a pinch...
I think it was helmet harbor that did a video review of it too if you google for it....
as far as the other stuff... I think the scorpion is a step up from HJC's and bells and all of those kind... I keep going back and forth between the Scorpion and my KBC and I like different things about each of them... The scorpion has a larger outer shell and more padding on the inside versus the KBC's less padding and smaller shell... The shape of the scorpion is pretty good (for my head at least) but the design tends to press down against the top of my head (not from just the wind pushing down but even before you ride... The visor feels more sturdy than any helmet I have seen and its one of the easiest to change... It has EXCELLENT ventilation... probably one of the best helmets made in that aspect...
Many people consider the Scorpion's fairly equivalent to the arai's and shoei's for half the price... I have mixed feelings about mine though... ventilation is awesome and the shield is a definite winner and I used to think it was comfortable but lately I have been back to the KBC more than the Scorpion...
If you were flat out going to buy one now... don't buy the EXO 400 series (has a heavier shell)... I'd skip the extra money on the 1000 and go with the EXO 700... save the extra money and buy you a tinted shield and the 700 series comes in better graphics :)
Oh and if you do get it... and ride in the winter they sell a chin wind blocking piece... I got mine directly from scorpion for $10 shipped after the fact but you may get your scorpion dealer to throw one in or order it with the helmet to save on shipping....
Friendly can get scorpion's if you are looking for a good local dealer.... southside honda in Lafayette stocks a handful of em... and motosport.com has em for less than MSRP and offers free 2nd day shipping (and I've dealt with them in the past and they have good customer service if you are wondering)

Well I've always kinda been between sizes. I can fit in a small but get a headache before I can break it in, so I've always used mediums.
After I tried on the pump, EXO-1000, I thought that I might be able to make a medium fit better than usual.
I can tell you that the pump hold on very tight. I tried removing the helmet without deflating the pump and there was no way in hell it was coming off, there is even a notice for EMT personal about where and how to deflate the helmet before removal.
I'm out of the graphics game now a days. Besides I've learn if are doing something illegal most times your helmet gets you caught. Since that experience I've decided to stick with solid color helmets.

I have (4) Scorpion helmets and am completely satisfied with all of them. I have (2) EXO 700, (1) EXO 400 and (1) EXO 100 half helmet that has the same drop down shade as the EXO 1000. I find themto be as good a fit and as good a helmet overall as my Shoei RF-1000 or my Shark RSX Eagle. they do run on the small side. Both my Shoei and my Shark are XL but I take a XXL Scorpion. I find that I get a better periferal vision range from the Scorpions. Don't know if I would spring for the extra EXO 1000, but I have no complaints with the helmets that I have and I will buy more. Lightspeed Motorsports ans Cajun Cycle Acc. both carry Scorpion helmets. Scorpion also makes a photocromatic shield which i HAVE on order with Lightspeed but it hasn't come in yet. I have shield that are over a year old and I still can't get them to fog up. Maybe it's just my head shape, but I don't think that I will buy another brand of helmet.

Jason all the scorpions run a lil on the small side so the 700 series would probably fit you just as well...

good to hear guys, thanks
Performance Susuki hear in Houma is going to let me use an EXO-1000 for a weekend to see what I think, once they get a medium in stock.
I'll let you know my thoughts after.
