You did .. There is at least one more on St Charles.. And you obviously didnt go all the way to carrolton cause there are 2 as soon as you turn right there...

I started down st Charles a few weeks back .. Thats the day my camera battery died and I saw all those markers I just havent been back.. I was saving them for a last hoorah...

I want to take a ride up the river stating in BR and heading toward Miss.. there are tons of old plantations and such that way.. If I could make it as far as Natchez there are so many civil war markers there its rediculous..

Weave and I found this gas station in the middle of nowhere Mississippi. Check out the fuel price on the pump. Yes, you read it right, .27 cents. With oil at $118 a barrel, this is the real "historical" marker.

I though I would post a few of interesting historical items I saw while in Germany. The first one is where Paul Reuter started his news service in Aachen, Germany.
Here is the history:
Paul Julius Reuter noticed that, with the electric telegraph, news no longer required days or weeks to travel long distances. In 1850, the 34-year-old Reuter was based in Aachen, close to the borders with the Netherlands and Belgium, and he began using the newly opened Berlin–Aachen telegraph line to send news to Berlin. However, there was a 76-mile (122 km) gap in the line between Aachen and Brussels, the Belgian capital city and the financial center of that country. Reuter saw there was an opportunity to speed up news service between Brussels and Berlin by using homing pigeons to bridge that gap in the telegraph lines.

This final one is also of a Roman Catholic artifact. The vessel contains a small cross said to be made of wood from the cross Jesus was crucified on. On the second picture, look closely to the left of the parchment is a gold vessel holding a thorn from the crown of thorns Jesus wore. To the right of the parchment is a small "thimble" said to have contained the blood of Jesus. These artifacts were from the Arch Diocese of Trier and were orginally "owned" by Saint Matthias, who, according to the Acts of the Apostles, was the apostle chosen by the remaining eleven apostles to replace Judas Iscariot following Judas' betrayal of Jesus and his suicide. Whether this is true or not, I do not know, but when I saw these artifacts, it raised the hair on the back of my neck. I would like to believe they are real and that is why they call it "having faith".
