I was a little chilly on my last round trip to Atlanta the week of January 20. I thought long and hard about that and tossed in the question, "What could I possibly add to the Buell that would help keep me warm and make the bike even dorkier looking?"

I hit upon it in pretty short order:

Hippo Hands!

If the weather cooperates even a little I'm planning to pick up an ADVenture Cache in northern Alabama to plant at that three-way intersection on Old Tunica.

I used those a few years back on a trip to Daytona. 25 degrees when I left Defuniak Springs that morning. They were worth every penny and did help a lot. Combined with the heated grips and a vest I was good to go.

are they heated too, or just a huge wind deflector for your hands?

Not heated, just a mongocious deflector. I'll probably lose 5% fuel economy because of the surface area of the front, though.

I've seen a rubber-band, I've seen a diamond-ring, and I've seen a house-fly, I know I seen about everything, now I've seen a elephant pig fly!

It now looks like an ATV from Wisconsin! I have to give you credit though, you are the first person riding a Harely that values function over form. You are a good canidate for a BMW.

If I can ever figure out how to have someone other than me to pay this thing off, there'll be a GSA in the garage in short order.

Dude, those things look hideous. But im sure they function as advertised.

hideous? Yes. Functional? Hell yeah. these things kick ass. it got down into the mid-30s early this morning. (i left at 0530 so i'd have time to snag ADVCache 29 in Northern Alabama.) I barely needed to turn the grips on. the gerbings gloves held their own famously. Truly the stupidest looking thing i've bought yet, but totally worth it.

In Europe (especially the UK and Paris), you'll see most bikers using them during the winter. So if someone gives you shit, just tell them they are European.
