Great idea Swampy !
Thanks for hosting Juice !

OK, I'm getting off to a late start but for a good cause (Children's Hospital)
Havn't been riding a whole lot lately but I intend to make up for it this week at DEALS GAP Banana12

Not much time for Marker Huntin' heading to Tech Day in Abita Springs on 3/1/08

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y168/s2tbolt/Abita%20Springs/S4010052.jpg

cause most of our time was spent like this...

http://www.dualsportridersoflouisiana.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4855

but this trip really sparked my interest of the North Shore area.

During a return trip with the family (in the cage) on 4/5/08, we enjoyed some great seafood at "Rip's" on the lakefront.
My wife's aunt & uncle live in Abita Springs and brought us around Fountainbleu State Park and the Historic District of Mandevlille where we found the Dew Drop Social and Benevolent Hall...

This old church is right next door and apparently they can post the 10 Commandments out front if they want to. :)

Maybe I'll find some historical markers this week during my trip to DEALS GAP Banana12

Shift with your right foot; 1 up & 3 down.
Rear brake with your left foot.
(I guess it's easier to remember if you drive on the wrong side of the road :p)

Kick starting this thing could throw you over the bars! (No elec start)

Doug, iirc you can contact the Archdiocese of New Orleans and they should be able to help you pinpoint where your relative is at in the cemetary. Or they can get you connected with the people who can.
I know my Dad followed the process to located a family gravesite in St. Roch Cemetary.

And anytime you want to go exploring Lafayette Cemetary again (or any other one for that matter) just let me know. I love that stuff ;)

*** 9 months later ***

Learned alot about the history of LSU lately so as I was passing by during my lunch hour;
I was suddenly compelled to stop and shoot this, even though I only had my cell phone...

http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p259/dugcoals/Dougs_Markers/Photo130.jpg

This shot cost me my front right turn signal because I tried to ascend the curb at an angle (instead of perpendicular)
and slowly the rear stepped out to the left... I lost the arm wrestle match as she gently sank to the grass on the right.
More embarrased than hurt, I finally got it back up just as a passer by walked back to assist.
Thanks Beemer guy, nice meeting you!
Safe journeys,
Doug
