I lusted after that bike for several months and almost bought one but ended up with an '09 F650GS instead. Tell me, how do you like it? What's the top cruising speed and range. What's the power like? How does it feel on the highway?

now that the bimmer is all crashed up, you might as well go get one....

Hah hah! All I need is a headlight and speedo but it'll be months before the BMW is back together. Parts availability is a major problem.

The 690 would be a replacement for the DR but not the bimmer. If I could get a second set of wheels for the 690 Enduro, that would be the way to go. Of course I could get a set of sumo wheels for the DR and save about $8,000.

I love IT...It has way more power than my DRZ, it handles like it is on rails and cruses nicely on the street. I never toped it out as of yet…but the top speed 120 is close to being accurate (on the track of course). As far as wheelies it powers up in second and third no problem. The only negatives thus far are as followed: Melting left signal light, and my speedometer is acting up. Oh and the bike is kind of pricey…Other than that AWSOME!

driz, how is the step seat?

I've thought about either getting a SDG step seat or just doing a custom job myself? Think it helps?????

The step seat SUCKS! It was so bad, I actually ordered new foam and put it back stock. I have no idea why people would do that unless they are tiny little people. Within 20 min of riding, it was downright painful.
