Anyone ever have trouble installing LED blinkers? As long as I have one incandescent bulb in the circuit, they blink. With all LED's all 4 come on no matter which turn signal I turn on. So three LED blinks plus one normal bulb and everything works like it should. All LED's and no matter which turn signal I turn on, all 4 turn signals come on steady (no blinking). I'm guessing the turn signal timer relay needs a certain amount of resistance to work (just a guess). Anyone here ever encounter this and have a solution (add a resistor to the circuit, if so how many ohms?).:baby:

you need an electronic relay... ebay has zillions of em... they're fairly cheap...

another way, is to put a resistor in the circuit somewhere.
The relay is a simple plug and play replacement for the stock relay...

I was trying to find one for a dr650, but found none... the key is to make sure it has the right plug on it...

I have something similar to this on my bike, also from FleaBay

I fly low is correct, you need a digital relay. The analog relay relies on the resistance of the incandescent bulb. The LED's draw such little current, they don't "trip" the analog relay.
If you can locate a "Plug and Play" relay... it's real easy. If not, you can pick up a two-prong digital relay and wire it yourself. It's not that difficult.
They make "inline" resistors that will simulate the incandescent bulb, but I don't recommend them. They put off alot off heat (like the bulb) and you have to make sure they mounted away from anything that'll melt.

I have converted my Hotrod Stepside's exterior lighting completely over to LED's a while back. And recently converted my Hayabusa over also. If I can help with anything just let me know;)

P.S. I've had good luck with these guys: Superbrite LED's (http://www.superbrightleds.com/1157.htm)
I have their FL2 red (http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/commerce.cgi?product=CAR) digital flashers in both the Stepside and the 'Busa

Thanks everyone. I tried the resistor thing. The incandescant bulb has a resistance of 1 ohm, so I added a 1 ohm resistor, no luck. I had a .1 to 10 ohm potentiometer, ran the whole span, still no luck. So I've ordered a plug and play electronic flasher. Thanks for the help. Hopefully no more big, easily broken blinkers to worry about now.
