View Full Version : Motorcycle-proof phone??

I renewed my contract with AT&T in August and got a new phone, and its already fucked up, sounds like static on both ends of the line when I make a call. Not cool, Samsung. Now, I've had this little turd in my pocket in a few small rain showers, so the strip is red: warranty voided. Fuck.
So realizing that I'm basically fucked out of this phone, I need to replace it with something more sturdy. The only "rugged" phone offered by at&t is the Samsung Rugby. Looks ok, just bulky, expensive, and I don't really need all the gadgetry.
Can anyone point me in the right direction for a good, reliable phone that is motorcycle-proof?

Those things and ziploc bags are not commonly found wrapped around my phone while getting stuck in a rain shower on the way home from work.
Why does AT&T only offer one "rugged" phone? (so I keep buying a new one when my last fancy one breaks....)

I have an Iphone... I keep it in an Otterbox..

I have been carrying it with me on the bike for well over a year now .. No problems what-so-ever....
The case is water resistant so carrying it in your pocket in a little rain wont bother it..
I keep mine in a tank bag but I do cover the tank bag for heavy rains...

Buy them cheap off of ebay and just throw them away when they get wet.

That has been my approach for a while, up until this phone.
I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and get a Samsung Rugby. Would have bought it when I got this one, but wasn't out until a month later! :Tazer1:
