View Full Version : KLR650 Low Buck Exhaust Mod
Idea/instructions from this thread (http://www.klr650.net/forums/showthread.php?p=616564#post616564). Took less than 10 minutes with a 2 1/8 hole saw and cutting oil drilling at a slow speed to get the tweety out. HMF endcap painted bbq black. Sounds much better.

HMF cap with a HMF spark arrestor. I used black RTV to make sure it does not slide around.

Sweet! I've been wanting to hear one, before I hack on mine...
Gotta come to a meet and greet, or something, sometime with it...

How does it sound Chad?
A little louder, but much better. And the backpressure has been lowered which makes the bike easier to control IMO. It was done before we went riding, and I really don't think that anyone noticed the extra noise.
I had to change the tip because the fender was getting too hot, so if any of you guys decide to do the mod and like the tip in the pics, let me know.

Oh they used to make me ride in the back when I had my pipe on my old KLR.... it was cool for about 10 sec.... then it just sounded like a pissed off lawn mower with no muffler.
I'm pretty well in the back anyway.
