To avoid the confusion.

Kevin and I are going to meet a few ADV riders from Texas to ride the camp Claiborne area near Alexandria. We are leaving Saturday morning April 15th @ 6:00 am with the bikes on a trailer. We will be riding all day and coming home Saturday night. I think the Texas guys are camping. Anyone interested post up.

trailer? What's that word mean?

Do y'all have room for two more? Otherwise Kit and I might ride up there and meet y'all.

No, I only have a 5x8 and have two bikes assigned to it already. You guys can follow us or just meet us up there? When are you planning on leaving Ken? You guys going to camp?

Can you ride off road bikes or does it have to be dual sport?

Whenever you want to leave brudda. I can be there at 0500 and sound off and drag you out of bed if I need to. But I would rather just meet you at the door and say good morning! Either way, just let me know what time.

What kind of riding is it going to be Juice? I'm not familiar with Camp Claiborne but if it's nothing to muddy then I may show up with the GS.

I don't know Ted. I have never been there myself. I was told there there are a few loops and about 40-50 miles of dirt trails to ride.....Maybe Yates will chime in and fill us in.

I just noticed this at the Forest Service website:

"In addition, a portion of the Loran Camping Area at the Claiborne Multiple-Use Trailhead will be closed. New improvements are being made. However, the Forest Service will allow camping in the day-use parking area until the project is completed. For more information call Glenn Coleman at 318-793-9427."

It may get VERY crowded. I'll try to check it out this weekend if I can. The good news is that they opened the Kincaid Lake Camping area which is "right around the corner" from Camp Claiborne. It's really nice: http://www.fs.fed.us/r8/kisatchie/index.html

Nope, never been. Had a neighbor that went all the time, but him and his 43 foot Fountain have moved away.

If you don't hear from him we are still going to "explore" the area unless something better comes up. We are going riding that day reguardless because Kit's shift change is that weekend and he already has Saturday off.

At least Hunter and I are going up Friday morning to ride with some 4 wheeler buddies at the Enduro riding area. I guess we will camp out Friday night then try to meet up with everyone else Saturday morning. As of now we will be at the trail head on Friday morning for 8:30 AM.

Where are we supposed to meet on Saturday?

Hey Kev

Do you want to trailer or do you want to ride?

Supposed to be nice weather, and either way I am going to get some saddle time on my pig.

I think after the trials you might be second guessing yourself if we have to ride all the way back to BR. We can pull the trailor with my truck if you want. Might be better than the jeep.... that is if we trialor. I am up for either way. Let me know, if we ride, we might want to meet alittle earlier. qwer

Juice

I was second guessing only because it would be a long ride in my jeep dragging 2 bikes. If you don't mind pulling my trailer, that would probably work out better. I was thinking we need to leave out about 6:00 to make the 8:30 meet time with Kenny.

That will work, I will need to know what size trialor ball to get. I might need to use your trialor to move as well some day soon... Let me know man, we can take my lil truck... not to roomy but it will serve it's purpose, and it gets good gas milage :)

For those of you who want to camp in peace. There is a nice quiet spot at Camp Claiborne where the 4-wheelers are not allowed. The place is known as "Harescramble Corner". When you exit off of Hwy 165 onto Hwy 112, go about 1 mile and start looking for a road on your left at the top of a hill with a STOP sign. It's the only stop sign on the left. That road takes you an intersection. Go right. Continue down this road as it curves to the left (maybe .5 - .75 miles). Take the first road to your left and it leads you back to an area where the enduro and harescramble races are held. It leads to the single track where only motorcycles are allowed. I still do not know if I will be able to make it but I will try.
