If so someone wants to do valves on KLR .. Keep in mind you will need shims .. So either go buy some random sizes or be prepared to make a parts run..

When you get into the water and look down at that white sandy bottom, you're gonna see a few rocks scattered in the sand, and you're gonna think to yourself... "Man, I bet this is what an arial shot of Rosie O'Donnels ass pimples would look like."
You'll try not to... but you will.

At that moment you'll say to yourself... "That fuckin Redbird is such an asshole for putting that thought in my head! I hope his fuckin bike falls over on him!"

Can you get 2-3 amsoil filters and 1 gallon of amsoil 20-50 for that day? I just did the oil change 200 miles ago with amsoil and OEM filter but I would rather pop in a amsoil filter now. That would give me an on hand supply for the next scheduled change.

I did mine a while back, quite easy, just make sure you have all the parts to do it, gaskets, coolant, o-ring, oil and filter.

Here is the crap that came out of mine when I did it.

Anyone good at replacing spokes and truing wheels? The XR100 needs a few spokes and some truing, and some brakes, and a chain/sprockets. Brakes, chain, sprockets are not problem but and making rims and spokes good, tight, and straight are foreign to me.

As a side note, any reccomendations for a chain and sprockets? Brand/type etc? Most importantly, a vendor with good prices and service? Wouldn't want to use someone who gave a brother any trouble......

Thanks and ya'll have a great day next weekend!

P.S.: If anyone is interested, that's Tiffany's Birthday!

I just bought a set of sprockets and a chain from Motorcycle Pro Shop, for the KLR.
http://www.motorcycleproshop.com/?gclid=CPHJ-uPe4ZgCFRHBDAodYl_7cg
good aftermarket steel front and rear sprockets, and RK 520 chain for 121.05 shipped.
They were nice enough to call me, on their own accord, asap, when they discovered one of the originally picked out rear sprockets were out of stock.
They subbed with another brand that they did have in stock.
Very polite, easy to work with customer service.
I'd buy from them again.

These were what I ordered for my 08 KLR650:
Item 1Product ID: JTF511-15Product Name: C/S SPROCKET-15Product Price: $20.95Quantity: 1
Item 2Product ID: JTR487-43Product Name: RR SPROCKET-43Product Price: $33.10Quantity: 1
Item 3Product ID: RK520XSO-106Product Name: RK 520XSO X 106 LINKSProduct Price: $57.00 Quantity: 1
SubTotal: $111.05
Shipping: $8.00(Regular Shipping)
Handling: $2.00
State Tax: $0.00
Country Tax: $0.00
Grand Total: $121.05

I_FLY_LOW
02-17-2009, 01:10 PM
For the easiest way to go, go to your local Hobby shop....
Stick on lead weights, is what most of us use...
If you go to the motorcycle shops, they charge more for em..
They're all the same stuff...
something like this:
http://www2.gpmd.com/image/g/gpmq4485.jpg
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXK204&P=0
Your local hobby shop should have em.
Not sure if Hobby Lobby might have em, or not.
I would thik if they sell pine derby car kits, they might sell weights too...

On charge now, shouldn't take that long. I am going to bring the charger so when I get there I can top it off, or at least get me back. See you in a bit.

Guys-

It was good seeing everyone earlier.

Good to see that old two-banger come to life.

Still waiting for Stu to put a set of real knobs on that shiney blue hot rod dirt bike.

Hope the shim was finally retrieved from deep inside the bowels of that KLR.

Yes it was a good day.

Today was probably THE best tech day DSRL has ever had when it comes to weather and attendance! It was good seeing some of the older faces as well as meeting some new ones! Here's a few pics from today.

I am gonna try to make it... I dont have anything to do to my bike .. But it would be a good shakedown run and If I do find some problems (hopefully I make it all the way) I will have help fixing them... Sounds like a win-win.... LOL...
