Thanks to CBBR I got to try this thing out. Boy lemme tell ya, it works great!

Sightly taller, distributes my ass better due to being firmer and wider, and it looks fucking sexy!

Ok, maybe going a little too far on that one.... but now to the bad: it absorbs water :fireangry:
So at this moment, it is being treated with Scotch Gard in an attempt to make it water tight. I simply don't like having a wet ass all day.

One day when I'm fat, old, and rich, I might get a Corbin or something, but while I'm young, poor, and not that fat, I'll use this.

Thanks Chad! :1stplace:

I would say get a Corbin Dished, one of the best mods I ever did to my KLR. Which is now your KLR... lol

How is she running Matt? I stopped to get an oil filter for my 4 wheeler yesterday and there where two KLR's sitting on the floor at Light Speed. One black one that looked really good too!

I'm loving it, planning to check the valves thursday. She makes a lot of squeaks and moans through the tank and bodywork, but that's OK with me.

You did the doo right? Did you replace the spring too?

Get you another one! I don't have to tell you how much fun you're missing out on...

Here's a pic of the seat cover, and my work from yesterday. I still have to paint the tank.

I checked the valves, one exhaust valve is too tight, the other is right at the tight end of the limit... I'll be painting the tank when I take it off to adjust them.

I've got a lot of use out of my Mad Dog Atv seat cover. 1st on the DR650, and then on the F650 twin. It gives firmness to the mushy seats and distributes your weight better. Now I have Corbins on both bikes and they are a huge improvement..................at a huge $price, unfortunately.

I meant to ask you the other day, do the valves tend to tighten up over time?
if so, is it then best to adjust them to the loosest end of the range, or in the middle?

Generally, yes, they tighten up.

My specs were this:

Intake L: .005 R: .006 (.004-.008 spec)

Exhaust L: .003 R: .006 (.006-.010 spec)

I don't plan to touch the intake, and wouldn't adjust the right side exhaust, but since I'll have that cam off already, might as well give it a bit more. I suspect if I adjust it all the way to .010 (the loose limit) there will be a bit of tapping noise.

Something there to set it off, but no go-nowhere graphics to mess it up.. I like...
