OK LA Gang,

We are going to try and hold a track day on Sunday, March 22, 2009 at Saucier MS. Last chance to practice before the GAMRA first races!

Track fee is $15 per rider. Please make sure you pay Nigel at the track before leaving for the day.

We figure we can hit the asphalt between 09:00am and 10:00am once we get the track prepped. We will need a leaf blower and a couple of brooms to help clean the track before we ride! Also bring a shovel so we can push back some of the grass that is growing over the track (I live in an apt & don't have any yard tools....).

If anybody has any orange marking paint, we need to mark a couple of bad spots in the track.

Give a shout to you fellow riders to let them know we are going to ride. Over 3/4 of the GAMRA gang has not re-registered for the new forum. located at gamra.us

Look forward to seeing you there. And bring a friend to ride!

Regards,

Your GAMRA Team.

Drizel and his son are coming with me. Drizel rides a big Husky and his son has a little 50. We will have to clear the track for the little guy. Is your daughter going to ride?

Is your daughter going to ride?Heather is still not over running off the track last time she tried. We are going to get in a little more field practice before she tries the track again. Looks like it will just be Caleb and I (and maybe Rusty the dog). Caleb says he would be happy to ease around with the new boy and show him some lines, if he would like that.

Driz,

Glad to see you and the little guy out there this weekend. Badger and I had a blast. I love watching the little guys ride. Austin showed much improvement between his first and last session. Always good to see my old Buddy Carl. Daryl well, he was quite entertaining after only a handful of beers. Now we just need to work on getting King and parker out there.........What a great weekend and the weather was absolutely perfect.

Had a blast man. I don't know what's up with my little guy...he rides around in the yard faster than that. Last time we went to 225MX he was trying to jump the little Honda so I don't know what is going on. I think he was uber-nervous today. He had a good time anyway. I had a good time as well. I started to get the Husky to slide a little and that is just more fun than should be allowed.

We'll be back Juice. Thanks for the help and invite man.

How did Brandon do?

Juice

He did great. We spent a few hours putting tape on the track and working on his lines late Saturday evening before the crowd moved in. Sunday morning the tape was removed and he still held his line. By the end of the day he was laying down some pretty good lap times. :respect:

yeah drizzel you did great ; especially considering it was youre first time on the track; there were a lot of 450 tards out that sunday ; i think there were maybe 6 or 7 450's and a kx500; good turn out for the bigger bikes; not counting mydr650; i think we might have had 12 to 14 riders; as usual i rode to much and am still sore and tired 2 days later ; but had a blast; we are gonna try to ride moore park go kart track this sunday yall come out and join us weather should be perfect

oh and by the way drizzel ; you were having a little problem with arm pump; you may want to try a few more of the Cours Light curls like darrell and i did sat night; they seemed to help me with the arm pump;

I was glad to see you LA guys show up to ride with us. Bring friends next time. If Austin wants to try it, I'll bring Caleb's CRF50/90 motard next time (has like 4 times the power of a stock fiddy). Caleb and I had a good time. I have to agree about the 450's on that little track, mine just wears me out.

Thanks Nigel. I may take you up on that. I am currently in negoiations on another bike for Austin. I think we are gonna sell the Honda because we have found another one with all KINDS of goodies.

The arm pump thing was real. My arms were sore yesterday and my hips and legs are still sore. I really enjoyed the track. Next time I will have all my safety gear and actually try to ride a bit more aggressively. I was really worried about crashing with no real knee protection.

How much of a elevation change are we looking at here?

I would guess about a 15' from the lowest to the highest part. The track is REALLY small and it's steep enough to be able to feel the engine working harder when just cruising around.

That's just a guess.
