DSRL iPhone/mobile version - POLL inside!

I asked the question a year or so ago but now I have alterior motive to ask again... since I just got an iPhone I was wondering how many members on here had them and if so how many people would or wouldn't view DSRL from it...

If you don't have an iPhone but have another kind of smartphone or possibly non-smartphone with a full internet browser like Opera Mini, don't feel left out a mobile page would work for you too (or I may have to create a different version)... but if you have another kind of phone and would actually use it to view DSRL please post up on this thread with your phone model so I can see what we're working with... (sorry but if your phone only has "wireless web" without full web capabilities there likely will not be a version)

If enough people have em to warrant it.... I'll find/modify/create or whatever needed to make an iPhone/mobile version of the page...

IN SHORT: answer the question in the poll, if you have a non-iPhone you would like to use to view DSRL post up with the model # of it... :)

Ya there is nothing stopping anyone from an iPhone or any other browser from viewing it... but the forum has the ability to change skins which means it can change the background/graphics/style/sizing/etc to better fit on the screens of mobile phones... A better layout would be easier with the touch screens and all...

looks like we will have enough interest so I'll start looking into it :)

I actually like mobile sites designed for blackberry's etc on my iphone. Like bayou shooters mobile (m.bayoushooter.com).

Been browsing with several WM phones since I joined. Last one was a non-3G Ipaq, Current one is a HTC Kaiser. I've also used my old 8820 Blackberry I had for my last job.

The main thing that bogs my WM phones out is the script that jumps you to the latest post in a thread. WM is not happy with whatever it is that makes that work.

I look at it on my HTC Mogul 6800, works fine with opera mobile... full page viewer... it's slick.

OK good news.... i got a beta version of it up and running... easy to try out... just go to any page of the forum and you will see a little pull down box all the way in the bottom left corner... just switch it over to iPhone and give it a whirl... I have NO idea how it will show up on windows mobile since i only have an iPhone to test it on...

this is in no means done and will probably be changed up slightly... the color scheme may be subject to change... some of the buttons may change but it looks fairly good in general.... i've already spent about 5 hours tweaking templates so I don't anticipate a ton more work on it... also some features are stripped out for ease of reading on the phone so no it doesn't have every option... if there are any great options that are missing that you would like please post up and i'll think/see about integrating them...

also mods although it does have some moderation options in it right now please refrain from using any of them as I have no idea if they or or if they work right lol...

please post up any bugs here... and yeah I know there are plenty!

please note that as of now you have to manually switch to iphone skin... after it is finished it will automatically switch you to it when on the iphone but you will always be able to revert by clicking the button in the lower left corner of the iphone skin that says normal version...

I've been using my i-phone to view DRSL all week while I was offshore. Once you get out on the water and lose 3G, this site is SLEAUX! So yes, a mobile version would be nice.
