BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A motorcycle crash near Geismar has claimed the life of a local man. The accident happened Saturday just after midnight. Dwight T. Scott was riding his motorcycle north on LA 73 when he crossed the center line and ran off the road. When he re-entered the roadway, he lost control of the motorcycle and fell off. Acadian Ambulance transported him to St. Elizabeth Hospital where he later died from his injuries.
State Police say Scott was wearing a helmet but it wasn't DOT-approved. Alcohol is suspected in the crash.
