Cutting out at WOT. Completely new problem. Rode it for a bit and it got better... thinking that a little rust trash somehow clogged only the mains (I ran the tank with some rust in it last week). It revs all the way up as long as you stay at less than about 3/4 throttle.

Good news is that the inside of the tank is completely rust free, thanks to muriatic(sp?) acid, CLR, and WD-40!

I am out. I'll be hanging with the boys from work. Usually the first available weekend of the month generally puts me out. Being that the 4th is on a weekend the 11th is the first available weekend. Sucks, cause i need the valves checked.

so what are you going to do with the motor you're taking out?

I'll rebuild it, and eventually put it back in the bike. It's "numbers matching" with the frame.

How do you hole a piston in a 2-stroke? running too lean? bad oil/gas ratio?

Too lean will do it. And I think it was running much leaner than I thought with the pod filters and cut down baffles.
